That’s a great idea and would definitely be awesome tribute to Fred. I’m going to make one for myself because I named one of my captive bred baby monitors after Fred and another after my friend Bud Smith a boa breeder who recently passed. I still have about 50 babies left and I’m keeping a few so I definitely had to name one after Fred the legend. Specially since his love for reptiles was out of this world and want Fred to live on and never be forgotten. RIP Fred and Bud you’ll never be forgotten and thank you for all you’ve done in the reptile community.
I think when you get your bridge(s) built, you should also consider a tall lifeguard chair or something like a raised platform to give you a high spot to watch over the gators. It would give you awesome perspectives to film.
Indeed a place to sit and soak in all the wonderful things he's been given and experienced while reminiscing on all the wonderful Fred times. I only just started watching this channel about 2 years ago and in obsessed and have been introduced to so many new people and animals that i wouldn't have known otherwise. The reptile world on youtube is too small in my opinion and too many literally just do it for money but Kamp Kanan is a whole different world. A lifeguard stand would be awesome. And one large enough for more than one person so that he can. continue to bring other people along.
Have u considered making a little feeding platform, where it's stable (not sinking or sliding mud)? It'd teach them where to come for food and safer for u!
I want to make my place similar for all my monitors specially since all my babies are growing. Check them out sometime. Im going to make my own Jurassic Park for all my monitors and other reptiles that’s my dream anyway. It’ll happen and already in the works.
I always love seeing Slinky the King 😆 but it was so special to see that Dale and Snaggletooth have been exploring their habitat. The best was watching you feed Dale and seeing that trust between you two beginning to grow. ♡

I am back again... just watched the capture and move from Fred's place to the Kamp. The emotion never diminishes... these huge, majestic creatures withstand the trauma of being moved from their long-time home....and then begin to build trust in their new home. I am trying to the same thing in my own life...... and this inspires me

Good morning Kenan! Love slinky in the beginning!! So super excited for all of these new vids of the gators. And "Fred's lagoon" is absolutely the best name possible!!
In my area there is a wildlife refuge that butts up against a tourist town. In the refuge were 3 gators that were quite beloved by the birdwatchers and animal enthusiasts that came to the park. They were lovingly (if morbidly) named Boots, Belt, and Bags. A couple years ago Boots (he was about the size of Dale) decided to bask himself on the edge of the parking lot of the local Dollar General store (the store was on the border of the refuge and there were no fences or anything). Some tourists thought it would be funny to buy some snacks in the store and toss them to Boots. So more tourists did it. Then people tossed him chicken thighs and guts from their fishing catches. So he gradually got closer, until he would spend his time basking in the middle of the parking lot and every time he saw a human, he’d open his mouth and approach a bit, expecting food to be thrown to him. Naturally this behavior *terrified* people. If you were going shopping and a large gator came at you, mouth open, what would you do? What would you think? So Parks and Wildlife had to step in and move Boots to a different refuge that’s in a remote area at the other end of the state. If he somehow finds people again and starts begging again, he’ll have to be euthanized. If he were in some other states instead of this one, he would have been euthanized outright. Kenan’s right when he says not to attempt any of this with wild alligators. It rarely causes trouble for humans (though it can), but it usually causes the alligator’s death.
Tip from a fisherman on how to get those squirrels to float. Take a large-ish syringe and inject a pocket of air under the skin to get it to float. It is really easy to do and won't hurt the gator in any way but will save you the hassle of raking squirrels out of the pond. Also I like the name gator Grove for the enclosure (fits with the alliteration nicely)
Definitely love Fred's Lagoon~ It was fabulous to watch the gators throw back their food. I grew up absolutely loving gators having grown up in Florida. And I'm so excited to moving back and having the opportunity to see some gators out in the wild again~

13:55 haha yeah, we went to a croc farm and going from seeing the crocs feeding and the gators was like night and day. The guys doing the presentation were getting in the water with the gators, whereas with salties and that there were chain link fences that even they wouldn't go thorugh
I am a huge fan of Primitive Predators gator enclosures, but overtime they learned that because there are no visual barriers and only one pond the gators fight more often. I absolutely love your enclosure, lots of visual barriers, multiple ponds, inland, lots of land area. These gators are going to thrive at Kamp Kenan.
