skeskali thank you! No I didn’t. But if you want to do a transfer on a plain paper background, so not on top of a layer of acrylic paint then I recommend to apply 1 or 2 layers of matte medium first. This to protect the paper from the water you add.
I’m about to do an colors image transfer onto one of my acrylic paintings for a friend. Do you recommend filling in the white so the background doesn’t peek through before I transfer it?
Lexy Lexx it depends on the image and how busy your background is. It might be fun to have pop art like colors in a face but maybe not so much a lot of pattern. And if it is a picture with kots of details you might also want to choose to apply a layer of color first. Not necessarily white. 😊
What is the best paper to use as a substrate for this image transfer? I mean, what is your art journal made of? Something that can take a lot of water I imagine.
kmcorby watercolor paper is a good choice. And a layer of acrylic paint or matte medium on the background also helps to protect the paper from the water!
