Fun fact: I actually knew how rockets work before playing sfs for the first time, meaning that my first rocket wasn't a nooby rocket or an example rocket, I made it myself and it worked actually
I used to play KSP a lot and when I tried out this game i accomplished like everything in this video in a couple of hours. Just basic understanding of orbital mechanics is what helped me. Haven't played this game since. Idk why this is in my reccomendations but something in sfs is definetely charming.
i was supposed to make a missile but then the "missile" managed to get to the moon and back with no staging so my brain was like "yo dum-ass chris, make that missile your main rocket"
Bro when I started playing, we had battery's and transfer windows were just a bright line, we had to do all the other work. And rendezvous were another story, we had to plan ahead, and burn until we got as close as we could. So be happy that you have what you have.
you aren't the only one who confused parts as others, when i started playing at 1.5, i placed a nosecone instead of capsule, the rocket itself was the exact same as the one shown in 1st second..
Landing on phobos and deimos is easier than landing on moon because they both have super low gravity meaning you can land a giant ship with only one kolibri engine
As an Og sfs player I love watching this it reminds of the old days when I love sfs for diffrent reasons I would mess around and have fun Today I find Joy in building bases And soace stations Aswell as colonizing
do you remember the period when you coulded build a literal electrical Rcs rocket? imo it was so fun,you had possibility to go everywhere thanks to that bug...
I didnt know how to orbit for like the first 5 days until I watched a tutorial. Before that all I did was tilt my rocket sideways and pretend to orbit when i actually just had a tiny suborbital trajectory.
@@no1dea261 If you use a direct transfer you are going to need huge amounts of fuel, with that method it took me 1 week to put a satellite and a mercury probe. But if you use the gravitational assistance from Venus you could colonize Mercury in a matter of a few months.
In my first month i was literally trying to go straight to the moon without orbiting, now i have been playing for a year and I’m able to go anywhere with an atmosphere but i cant get back
I like sfs because it teached me how rockets work first i thought you could just fly around in space like you would on earth but then i realised how much calculation you have to do

I’ve been playing sfs for 3 months and landed 19 times on the moon successfully with no cheats or dlc, no bp edit. I also successfully made it to mars. I made a rocket factory, a no dlc starship, and planes and jets.
2 months of playing spaceflight simolator i finaly crated a super mega heavy starship 10x the size of Liberty and it was so heavy that it nevered go to space or even fly
Day by day my skills in sfs is raising after 1 month i made a tank which has very small rocket with low fuel as the munitions for the turret, now the turret can be aimed. every one of my new builds is beautiful and the old one, I just make a remastered version so it'll look beautiful.
Really? Before the game visuals got updated, before the infinite build area DLC, I made a rocket and sent it to Mars, it used a *L O T* of wide fuel tanks and I understood how much I need to balance the efficiency and the force of the engines, I didn't succeed at the first try, and I got it on the 3rd try, with no upgrades to the rocket whatsoever, oh, not only that, *I only played SFS for 2 weeks.*
Me: *goes on and makes a rocket in my first second of the game, launches it, got into orbit, goes past the moon, and gets trapped in the middle of nowhere because the rocket ran out of fuel*

it makes sense since you used to be able to use a capsule and make srbs

"No heat damage"
