Good to get a video from you. That opening part with the calf playing in the new snow was just great. Need more calf videos. That is going to be some big bonfires when you burn those piles.
Your a busy man with cattle , grain hauling, cat skinning, and the most important thing is cheering on the oilers. Work safely and enjoy the playoffs!!!
Oh I remember that day of the never ending emergency alerts. Nice to see another vid from you. Hopefully things are going well in the prep for seeding.
Laury doesn't let any grass grow under his feet, he get's it done.... That is a mint looking D6C you have there, both those dozers look pretty cherry.... Every foot of ground is feed ...Thanks Tyson....
Keep on making very good videos, they mellow me out ,you're living the Dream, peace and quiet and the work doesn't end . Hay stacks of loose hay pitch forks ,cold winters ,I was a kid
Looks good. Nothing like seeing brush piled up. The boys moved in and got 86 acres cut and piled for me in a week. They’ll be back this summer to disc it and some other stuff we piled last year. That KG blade sure shaved it smooth. I was getting worried cause it was getting late when they started the end of march.
@@Northern_Farmer it is slick. Did a lot of willow mixed with aspen. Sheared it pretty clean. Couple passes with his big kello bilt disc will just about take it to seed bed…. Hit it a couple times with my lighter offset will have it ready for next spring.
@@Northern_Farmer million ways to break land. Lol. If my pockets were deeper I’d get a rotovator through it and be done in one pass, but discing seems to work out well too. Did a couple hundred acres that way already. Sure like those 36 inch blades sunk in to chew it up twice before I hit it with mine. Seems like a couple years of tillage before planting and after harvest it turns out pretty nice without much root picking.
Tyson, love the videos I will see the most entertaining part was at the six minute mark when the bale processor went from shot to shot, had a national film board of Canada feel about it. Love it
Looks good. I hate working with old willows. It’s hard to do a nice job. Almost impossible to get all the roots out without filling the pile full of dirt. I use the hoe now whenever I can and just rake them out. Maybe a bit slower to begin with but the piles stay clean and you get most of the roots out at the same time. Hope your fan hub bearings are still good. Had to go through my 7E last winter and rebuild everything. You’re right the cat belts are a different width and. Different angle. Speced out the cat belts and the gates belts for my 7. Cat had them in stock and they weren’t horribly priced. Refaced most of pulleys while I was at it and actually replaced the fan pulley itself. Lucked out and found a almost new one that had been siting on a shelf for years. Gave me a good deal but shipping from Washington to Saskatchewan still counted up.
What’s been working good for myself is tramping in the summer and piling in the winter, don’t seem to leave as many stumps on bigger trees. Great videos!
Looking good. Not much for trees left around here to knock down. There is a couple bluffs on dad's land that a guy could clean up but you would gain much. Couple years back some friends sold out. They had a DIKA breaking plow and a cutter for a D7. I believe the plow went for 5g and the cutter did about the same.
There is nothing more entertaining than a land of breaking video. It reminds me of the old stomping Tom song my back still aches. When I hear that word he was talking about Tillsonburg and the tobacco field. . Well, when I see burking, I think of pulling roots by hand back in the 70s.
Had that happen to an IH pickup in ‘68. It was a V8 with 3 belts and one broke and “derailed” the other two. It was a tangled rats nest that took hours to clean up.
Dam hard work going on sod buster hope you all are OK. Ps how is your PA doing ok I hope still cold as he'll here in north west minn but the snow is melting some now they the dam flooding starts. Sam
the willows on my place are up to 6 inches diameter. You have chainsaw them down, but they sure burn good. We have had 3 burn piles gone this week. Snow is all gone in our part of BC now so we can burn our piles .
How many acres do you have you can clear if able watch all your videos old nh combine mechanic an have tr86 great combines work on first 50 tr 70 our dealership got to sell one kinda neat be safe
If it's like our loader a generic belt would be £2.49 each from Cat they would be £90.99. Do you get your market research call about a week after you have ordered parts from them on your experience every time you order something?
@@Northern_Farmermaybe I’m too old school, in 70’s to 90’s in NW Canada, I guess we followed Alcan Hwy ‘traditions’ of heating engines/transmissions under parachutes or tarps, to start, I garnered much mechanical experience & saw the effects of not heating trans/hyd systems & starting engine that’s been warmed through electricity or propane etc. & seeing sheared shafts. Love the look of your hat! Very sharp looking!

Nice
Looks good Tyson.. make sure you have the hot dogs ready and marshmallows when you burn the piles. Stay safe. Take care.
That’s tough work. You’re earning every acre of land you clear. Nice to see people opening willow wasteland back into field.
Thanks 👍
Thank you for the video great seeing you again
Thank you
We like when you take us along with your maken money for the future. Nice work guys.
Thanks Wayne
Thanks for the video Tyson! Good to be recovering more land to put to use! Have a great day! 😀
Thanks! You too!

Yea they are the worst...pain in the ass
Great video Tyson
Thanks kevin
You should knock that bush down in the fall and pile it up when the frost is in the ground that way you get most of the stumps out
Shit you guys really got er whipped up in decent shape to break it up eh!! 👌👌👌
Oh yea..she's ready to work up
Great job running the Cats guys
Looking forward to you dishing that bit of country
Thanks for the updated fun you're having,,,, show the baby cow's 🐄🐂🐮🦬
Sure thing!
❤your work

I thought about that to for the rest
You are making good progress!

You should look at a brush mulcher Those things just tear right through small trees
I know that be awesome to finish off the rest
Lookin good tyson.
Good luck brushing guys
Thanks for the video Ty!! It’s like Xmas when I see a notification pop up for your vids! Keep ‘em coming!
Glad you like them!
Big job wish you well.

Lots of work
Need an ether tube like on the old 4020 deeres
I know...already thinking about that
Nice video. Yeah we flipped the belts off before when a stray cat that was in the engine compartment tried going out by the fan. Didn't work.
That spring tensioner is a bitch to get back on..Holy moly
Thanks for the video Tyson...great quality picture. Really enjoy watching the D8 and D6 working in the bush...do you have a lot to do??
No I'm done that for the season
Only a 2 hour warm up for the D8 and you're good to go😀
Haha...
Hi ya Tyson so glad to see you back maybe you should see if you could get some moose to come in to chew off the willows
They are there lol
Had that happen to an IH pickup in ‘68. It was a V8 with 3 belts and one broke and “derailed” the other two. It was a tangled rats nest that took hours to clean up.
Hi Tyson good to hear from you. Those Cats sure can get the work done. Is it cold running them or do you get enough heat from the engine to keep warm?
No it's actually to warm during spring. The engine heat is hot
Dam hard work going on sod buster hope you all are OK. Ps how is your PA doing ok I hope still cold as he'll here in north west minn but the snow is melting some now they the dam flooding starts. Sam
No flooding here this year...dry already
Dad's doing alright
Take a grain shovel with you and once in a while throw some snow into the belly pan. 👍
Always do
Great to see you back. Sometimes you kill us with your absence 😀
I'm sorry
when we cleared land 10 years ago after piling up the trees we rented a huge wishek disk. chopped up all the remaining stumps with ease.
Bigger then the 842?
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
thanks you two
the willows on my place are up to 6 inches diameter. You have chainsaw them down, but they sure burn good. We have had 3 burn piles gone this week. Snow is all gone in our part of BC now so we can burn our piles .
Our free burning ended on March 1st
How many acres do you have you can clear if able watch all your videos old nh combine mechanic an have tr86 great combines work on first 50 tr 70 our dealership got to sell one kinda neat be safe
Here there is about 40 more acres...but I have 40 in another quarter...and more in a few others
Get a breaking plow and barrier all that small brush and disk it for the next2 years
That's a possibility
In the 50s and 60s my dad broke most of his land with a one bottom breaking plow and 720 John Deere
We still have a old steel wheel one bottom breaking plow
I use my Rome TMR 12 foot. Got 30 inch blades. Would smack that shit hard!!
That be awesome to have
Can you try burning those piles? Or will you just let them rot?
Birn them next winter
good moving stuff
a rake attachment for the bull dozer might be the ticket
I have one for the 6..
Back when the land in your area was first settled, was it wooded or was it grassland?
Wooded
Can you burn those piles?
Next November
If it's like our loader a generic belt would be £2.49 each from Cat they would be £90.99.
Do you get your market research call about a week after you have ordered parts from them on your experience every time you order something?
Hi Ty it’s going good haha!
Missing a track pad on that 6 left side
Yes...just ordered a new one
Pretty interesting Tyson. Is this the bush you were talking about clearing in one of the haying videos last summer?
I can't even remember haha
How can we order one of those caps with your name on it??
I'm out of stock right now...but send me a email at ty_k9@hotmail.com
Glow plugs quit working?
No..but depends how cold it is..they run the batteries down
@@Northern_Farmer I have found that mine will start to about 10 below F with good batteries.
Wish you could plug in a K.
pity you couldnt rent an FAE mulcher for those willows
Never know..I might yet
👍👍
I thought the D8 had Glow plugs, do they not work anymore?
Depends how cold it is...if it's really cold either..not to cold...glow plugs
Isn't that hard to do when the ground is snow covered?
Nit really
You’re in spring at -15 we are in autumn at 35 C
Right now there is no snow..almost dried up
-40 works fantastic for what you are doing
Right Shawn right
clearing land is the cheapest land you can buy
And in the middle of all that you probably answered a lot of text messages LOL
This is true lol
Engine poison a engine pre heating unit or an engine pre heat unit ( ie glow plugs etc),just saying either is not good
I try not to use it much
Fix your glow plugs that old cat will fire at 40 below with no problems
They work..just need new batteries
Either and pre cup engines are a terrible mix. Seen them blow the heads right off the engine
Don’t stake a tyre
Seriously??? Used K’s up to minus 45, never used an ounce of either. You’re lucky you have any head gaskets.
I get hell if I use the glow plugs ...and I get hell if I use either

@@danrossell6375 ether either starting fluid, it’s all the same, brake cleaner, wd-40 can also be used.
