Even with the AI tools, you need to be a good musician to make art and to know when you found something worthy and then create a piece that touches people feelings. Is like photography, anyone can make a decent picture but not everyone can make a good picture.

Agreed. Where do we reach some consensus on whether a piece of work possesses QUALITY , whether it is worthy of our attention. Certainly people are touched by particular arrangements of sound and composition, yet we live in an Age where an awful lot of soulless dross is venerated in the name of easily digestible and effortlessly marketed product. that exponents of evolving technology increasingly pays lip service to as an example of the sort of product their technology can provide.

Besides the brief but comprehensive history of hip hop and computer music. Which was impeccable btw.
What really impressed me about this video, was all the cut and paste style video editing. Such diverse subliminal, only one or two seconds some of them. All placed meticulously to perfectly match the narative audio.
I for one know exactly how much hard work and time went into this production. Just collecting all the video clips, and then turning them into useable samples, is time consuming enough. But then putting the whole thing together in an editor, and sequencing all the samples perfectly, is yet another arduous task, even for just 10 or 15 mins worth of content.
Nobody really seems to appreciate the workload involved. They just watch it, and say "yeah, that was cool". Or whatever. But nobody stops to think. Every single one of those 2-3 sec video samples have been crafted and perfectly placed, to bring the whole thing together.
I'm very impressed, and you just got a new sub. I'm fascinated with AI, and this work you are using it for now, music creation. Is just one aspect to AI. Its such an exciting world to be a part of. And we are only just at the beginning. The AI workd beckons.

How did it hit my eardrums? using digital signal processing and pulse code modulation, an analog direct current signal induced a voltage variation which mimics amplitude and frequency variations over linear time to push and pull a magnetic coil coupled physically to a dynamic membrane, mounted to a housing, and generated an electronic magnetic field which pushes and pulls the air very rapidly, causing forward propegating pressure waves. Air molecules collided until some of those molecules made contact with my eardrum. that's how.

    • @DigitalBard1
      @DigitalBard1 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@alvarotaranta I think you have a misconception as to what art really is.
Art is not the finished product. Its the creative process itself. The final result is a mere by-product of all the time, energy and creative flow, that was put into it.
And when it comes to the final "Art piece".
Then it is usually left open to the interpretation of the observer, as to its true meaning. The artist often leaves the true meaning deliberately ambiguous, for maximum effect.
I don't see any of that being destroyed by AI, in fact it is being used as very useful tool, to accelerate efficiency and ease of work flow.
If you want to talk about destruction of art. You wanna talk to the governments of the world, who deliberately stifled the arts and culture departments within the education systems, and put a massive bias onto subjects more suited to industry, such as Mathematics, science and technology.
AI is very late to the party, and is being scape goated for a problem of lack of artistic flair within society, brought on by an industrialised mindset. Which was set into motion way before AI was even a concept.
And by the way. Quick question.
      Are you an artist yourself?

This text is generated by AI from short notes:
I completely understand where you're coming from. The evolution of music has been quite remarkable over the years, and it's natural to feel that the current concepts are getting old.
I share your sentiment about wanting more innovative tools for music creation. The idea of setting prompts to generate unique music combinations, like using chord progressions from IDM bands like Plaid or Autechre to create slow instrumental metal music for an hour, sounds incredibly intriguing. It's a glimpse into the future of music creation, where technology plays a pivotal role in shaping the art.
You're absolutely right that the music industry has undergone numerous transformations, and history rarely repeats itself in the same way. Those who have a deep passion for music often find themselves drawn to producing it, contributing to the ever-changing landscape.
You raise a thought-provoking concern about the potential devaluation of music due to the abundance of generated content. It's a valid point, and it's possible that the music of today may evolve into something more personal and individualized, losing some of its traditional value but gaining in other aspects.
In the end, the future of music is a fascinating journey filled with possibilities, challenges, and new horizons. It will be exciting to see how technology continues to shape and redefine the world of music, making it more accessible and diverse than ever before.

Even with DP it was just using smaller chunks and experimenting with pitch; things that their influences had already been doing. People are here saying negative things about a.i generative art.. but i can imagine that we gonna used to it and will useing this for sample as real wor eventually. if we can think about our history back it the day. See.. think about the analogs..what's call analog? we also include electric instruments as well. it still need to contorolled by human. but if we think way past days.. our ancestors who pursuing real sound might thinks about now day's music are sound like, it doesn't touching hearts at all and there's no humanity. but see this world now we are crazy about the all electric sounds.. we just don't ready to accept it that something new, I mean really newer things than before. thank you for the video. it was great contents for me.

Different topic but I hope there will be a vsti plug in which can create "AI voice crack". You know, when we listen to the voices generated by AI, we can hear some cracks sometimes. And I feel this sound can be good material when we make music.

This is an interesting and well-made video. You have video making skills for sure.
That said, all musical elements were just wack except the raw 60s 'without the s' and the 70s in the same part of the video.
You knowing who Pac, Lauryn Hill and DOOM are and still putting this out as music is kind of like a metaphor for what the AI lacking on the beats, rhymes, even the rythym, as in the 'rappers' having any.
If you were an AI that music would be more understandable.
It was a fun video, and I think you might be pretty good at this, plus, you even seem to know our history, which makes me relieved with the knowledge that real hip hop has a while to go before nerds and computers actually fuck it up. 😊
    Peace!

That´s why people add Groove to their track in a DAW. Otherwise, it´s sounding unnatural. Also you hear a lot in turtorials, how to add more human feel to it. Like for example, with velocity. If you change it a bit, so not all the same volume, it get´s a more natural sound too.
So I agree, it is sounding a little too perfect. I think we can do amazing stuff with AI, but more as help tools. But to make complete songs, why you wanna do that? Creativity of humans is amazing.
