You kept saying +1 damage to 24 wouldn't matter but adding +1 to the spearmen who do 32 against an all-knight army would somehow be huge, feel like you forgot about bonus damage. Though getting +1 damage on veteran spearmen vs knights means they will kill a knight in 7 hits instead of 8, where as knights getting even +2 melee attack still means spearmen die in 5 hits the same as +0.
Trade is still pretty good as mongols! being able to park it and push out the enemy then go again is really nice. Also, you should always try and trade as diagonal as you can.
I did this since last seasons especially in multiplayer, it's satisfying braindead strat , you only spam a shiton of barracks and farms, you don't need that much gold and you keep sending waves of maa meat , you just need to always keep an eye on the king to heal as much as possible.
