I arrange keys parts, pulled from stems of my studio recordings, for a DJ sampler that I control the sections of with my feet. This is a method I invented for a specific sampler in order to have a fuller sound without sacrificing musicality. It is because of this method that I can tour and put on the show that you see me put on.
Since you transferred from piano to guitar with such enormous success, I am wondering if you have yet attempted some slide technique. Your particular brain is structured like a musical sponge, so I'm sure you would pick it up. It would just be one more tool in your wide ranging kit. I am hoping you become the next big thing in terms of recognition. You clearly merit more acclaim. (Money is not the God, but yes, also better money.)
Thanks so much I appreciate your support and kind words. I have experimented many times with finger slide and I just don’t have any inspiration when I do it. No ideas come to mind as a result of the sounds. I am instead of spending my time songwriting, constantly evolving my technique in my left and right hands, and developing my vocal/guitar mimic technique. If in the future, I get a vision for finger slide, I will pursue it but as of now I don’t have any.
@@JackieVenson Slide often involves working with single notes, so it isn't for everyone. Lowell George from Little Feat mastered that technique (though he may have lacked in rhythm playing skills), and Duane Allman was the grand master of slide, along with many delta blues players. If you get the right inspiration from a great teacher, I think slide is up your sleeve. Remember, your first piano teacher was the wrong one. You already have plenty of ammo without slide, so it likely doesn't matter. It is also worth noting that gifted musicians always assign parts to others, so it can still become part of your sound in the future. The hard part is translating the sound you want to that musician. Some get it immediately, and others don't. I'm pretty certain you know the sound you want. You are the leader of the band, and the more you work and perform, the stronger your confidence gets. Joni Mitchell is an amazing guitar player with very odd guitar tunings she cannot herself remember, but I don't think slide guitar has ever been on her plate. Bonnie Raitt is one bad ass slide payer, and I have seen her play live, but slide is an essential part of her sound. Joni didn't need slide in her full house. Joni wandered in the direction of Jazz.
