I had the same problem. But if you go to the help section and just submit a name change, that’s how I did mine. It was changed 10 min after I submitted the request :)
I've got a fix for people with META at the top of their settings page: Press on the meta box. It will show connected profiles. Press on the profile you wish to change. Bingo.
Great video, very well explained. Do you have a recommendation as to what to do, when it doesn't believe that one's new last name is actually a last name? I just got married and now my last name is Check, but it doesn't recognize it. My brother in-law's name is correct on his profile, but it won't let me change mine. I know they have some authentication stuff, which I'm guessing, I'm going to need to do once I have my new license?
You have a I-phone. It does not look the same on an Android. There is NOWHERE anymore to change your name ....I have googled and tried to follow instructions after instructions, NOTHING is the same ANYMORE. Facebook and made it damn near impossible to change your name. I am going through a divorce for a pretty bad reason and CAN NOT CHANGE MY NAME!!! I am disgusted and VERY frustrated that I can not change my name. HEY FACEBOOK....YOU SUCK!!!

Scrolled all the way to the bottom which took a while. No places to select. I never could get this to work. How do change your name?
Changed recently. Now they implemented their "Meta" Account Center, which shows separately your name for FB and Insta.
