Haven't got a clue, but it sounds great, and you've convinced me. Honestly, you came across extremely well with your voice and sound levels. Well, videod to.

And what is that simple single CV change to disable SUSI?

What about the most important thing of all: does the MN offer as fine motor control as the MX?

I run N Gauge and use 615/6/7 in direct and wired and they are like rocking horse muck

The MN170 looks to be the same size as an MX617. Coastal DCC have Direct 6 pin versions in stock at the moment.

@@DongitsModelRailway I see. I only went and had a look because of this video. Similar to your preferred decoder the 617s were going for £20 a throw before Covid. Any info on what has changed between MX and MN? The MX 615 is available with wires: need them for smaller engines.

@@56NeilWatson Key difference is that it's a different (more recent) processor architecture which can be made on a different (more recent) production process.
I mentioned an ABC tuning difference in the video, which is the only thing I found different -- everything else is pretty much identical.
On the larger decoders, they tend to come with a couple more functions (e.g. 10 rather than 8) but that's not relevant for 6 and 8 pin chips which only have 2 or 3 actual wired outputs anyway.
