  • I will show you how to create an iridescent or rainbow reflective material in Clo3D. You can apply this material to fabrics and logos to get stunning results and experiment with different textures and parameters.

Great video once again! Super interesting and informative. I was wondering if there was a way to render a transparent iridescent pvc like material? For the moment I'm thincking about a way out by saving the render image as "glass", I change the material and shot the second one in the exact same position but with iridescent material. Then I export both render images with layers and masks in Photoshop and using the "glass" image as background I add the iridescent layer on top. What do you think? Must be an easier way ;) Thanks for all your good work

Were those the final settings you have in the beginning/thumbnail of the video?

Thanks for the video, for some reason, none of the (render only) material types are showing up for me, do you know why that would be?

Are you using Clo or Marvelous?

I suppose it isn't available for Marvelous designer, unfortunately. I'll rename the video to avoid confusion.

Is it possible to follow the same steps to create this effect in Marvelous Designer? Or is iridescence exclusive to Clo3D and we need to use both anyway?

Hi, I made this tutorial in Clo3d and expected the Iridescent Material type was in Marvelous so I didn't check that. But it seems like it isn't.

Thank you for replying! I checked the Marvelous Designer store out of curiosity after I posted this comment and there was actually one or more garments available with iridescent fabric, so I'm assuming it is in MD. But I haven't chosen yet which program I want to get (I can only afford one), so I still have options anyway

Hi. I'm here again about the iridescent material in Marvelous. So I found out that it isn't available there because Marvelous doesn't have render window at all. So if you want to render inside the program and have all the unique material types that Clo3d suggests - choose Clo3d.

@@MyDressPatterns I actually wanted to use it for animation mainly, but knowing that Clo3D has features like rendering and pattern exporting made me doubt between the two. Knowing these differences will be helpful to me, so thank you for your reply!
