Hi! As far as I know, Kubernetes itself is free on Digital Ocean, you just have to pay the price of the nodes. From this documentation (www.digitalocean.com/pricing/kubernetes) it looks like the cheapest plan is $12, but that won't give you much compute. Another alternative is buying a refurbished thin client (like a Lenovo ThinkCentre) on Amazon for $100, and installing Kubernetes on that. It requires a higher initial investment, but will give you a much greater price to performance ratio in the long run.
