- whew i've been so behind on this video...... i filmed this while i was still at college before this entire quarantine thing happened, and now, i'm editing it like 2 or 3 months later..... i guess life just happens like that! editing this video felt very nostalgic and bittersweet since i got to see everything that i filmed while i was still in my dorm. i miss my dorm and my roommates and my college friends dearly, and it's strange to think about how the semester came to an end without them close by. either way, here is how i take notes on my ipad, my opinions on the ipad and digital notes, and my overall experience. sorry for the wait, and hope you enjoy the video!

ahhh i have the same earrings as you!! also i’m currently trying to talk myself out of getting an ipad for college and this is NOT HELPING 😩😩
omg yesssss we r twinning now :") and tbh,,,,,,i regret getting an ipad lol
I'm sorry, are BOTH my favorite study ytbers on the same comment??? I cant-
I got an iPad (just the baseline one) for the holidays in 2018 and I never found myself using it tbh. I never liked the feel of the apple pencil on the screen and overall taking notes on an iPad just isn't as satisfying or enjoyable as taking notes on paper. I love being able to physically flip through my notes and use pen (or pencil) on paper. As she mentioned in the video, I definitely couldn't imagine subjects like math, physics, or chemistry being as efficient on an iPad as on paper. It's also a lot easier for me to hold myself accountable if I'm taking notes on paper rather than on an iPad because I would often find myself browsing TH-cam instead of working. You can't really do that with a notebook haha.
@@tbhstudying why the regret pls explain...

“My class starts in like 20 mins”
We stan a last minute queen😂
(The stickers on the Ipad is so cute tho!)
mood,,,,, i've almost been late for that class so many times haha
Hahahahahahaha!
Lol
I barely touch my laptop after I bought iPad Pro 2018 11inch :')
And I start to have weird habit while writing on paper. I tried to zoom the paper or tried to click imaginary eraser on the paper too xD
January Colnick i have that too and everytime i do that i stare into the void and sighing really loudly hahaha
I do that all the time with tests! The worst part is I won’t realize the first time and I’ll keep double tapping my pencil and trying to erase which only leads to more marks on my papers😭😂
lol i use procreate to do art and now, whenever I'm drawing on paper, I would double tap the paper to "go back" 😂
nightowl oh my god same! i’m looking at note taking apps at the moment and i keep going to double tap to undo and then realising that’s not a thing on them 😂
Don’t you need your laptop to type us assignment and stuff
i'm giving my opinion in case someone is thinking about getting and ipad for school:
I've been using an ipad 6th generation with the first generation apple pencil for the past year, and oh boi. GAME CHANGER.
I exclusively use it for notetaking, and i'm majoring an energy sistems engineering btw.
1. i have all my notes in one place. i can access to them whenever i need. THIS IS A HIT.
2. i used to take lecture pictures with my phone, but then my gallery was so messy, and also it was time consuming every time i needed to transcript the picture to my physical notes.
i have way more reasons about how getting and ipad changed my college experience the last year. Really, if you can afford it (also mine was second hand lol), i recomend 100% buying and ipad for school.
(sorry for my bad english, u_u don't be so rude with me haha :C)
Where did you buy it second hand? I also want to get the 6 th generation since it's the one I could kind of afford but if it's second hand it would be great:(
Wait I want to know the other reasons 🥺
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW EXCITED I WAS WHEN I SAW THIS VIDEO I'm saving up for an iPad and I've been binging like iPad notetaking vids, but id say out of all of the like "study content" youtube channels, I trust your like, idk, criticism and like advice?? I guess you could say? the most? well anyways THANK U FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO
no problem! tbh i think i have far more criticism for the ipad compared to other study channels, so i worried that this video wouldn't be as helpful (??) compared to others. i'm glad you enjoyed it!
it’s so ironic how i finally ordered my ipad pro last night for school and you’re uploading a video on how to take notes on it. i’ve been following you advice for since i was a sophomore in hs and now i’m about to be a sophomore in college 😔🎻
speaking of college, your study with my videos helped me during this hard transition of online learning. it puts me in this work mindset that was hard for me to do on my own. i swear you make everything ok for me and i truly appreciate it so much

Tbh I'd cry if I got an iPad, it's one of those things I really want to help me with school
Even an old model would do wonders
Marissa Olivia maybe look up the student iPad and then maybe a used one? It can get pretty cheap then if you already use the Budget iPad (I use it and it's perfectly fine!) and then getting it used will make it even cheaper. If the quality of the used product is still good you can get a good device for a fraction of the iPad Pro price
check the normal ipads (not pro) and/or the refurbished section on apple, and if you can, apply the student discount. however, if your budget doesn't fit an ipad, then it's fine to not have one! i personally regret getting mine even though i really wanted one beforehand. take care!
Yall tysm butbmy mom would forbid me buying it as I already have a laptop and phone lmao
@@tbhstudying wait u regret it?
Marissa Olivia an iPad is great if you already have a good laptop. My laptop is so bad and I kind of regret getting an iPad cos even though handwritten notes and stuff are really good, working on like google docs or photoshop and stuff is not as easy for me personally. But I absolutely love GoodNotes :)
The day when Seo discovers meme editing is the day we were not prepared for
honestly, my high school has a byod (bring your own device) policy, so i used to use an ipad, but i would only use it to view slides because i find i memorize info better with paper notes (idk, something with the texture or kinesthetics) and i just like the feel of having paper notes as opposed to something nonphysical like an ipad. eventually, i passed thr ipad to my brother and got a laptop, which does work better. that being said, i know tons of kids who like annotating on their tablets and use the hell put of goodnotes. so it's just a matter of preference and budget. thanks for the vid!
seo is literally my favourite study tuber. I've been watching her since gr 9 and im in gr 11 in
To the people who are reading this, ily! you are amazing, and you are loved 💖
I’ve been really requesting this lately and I’m so glad you were able to make it. Thank you sm seo hope you and your family stay happy and healthy.
I love your explanation/comparisons from 11:21 to 14:32. I feel like a lot of students are pressured into buying an iPad (myself included) because they see a lot of TH-camrs/studygram accounts that use one. It really is based on preference and having an iPad doesn’t guarantee you’ll make better notes or get better grades lol. It definitely is a helpful tool but you can totally survive without it! Back when the iPad was not yet invented, people were doing just fine haha. 😉
yeah, i honestly regret getting an ipad sometimes, and i feel like i was fooled more by other studygrams and videos i was watching at the time. don't get me wrong; it's helpful and has its uses, but it's not something that i see to be superior to paper or something that is necessary
omg thank you for this video, i was so sure that I needed an ipad pro for chem cause it's my major, but you made me realize paper is just as fine!!
i’ve watched a ton of videos on goodnotes and this one is my favorite! this makes me even more excited for the ipad pro i just ordered!
thank you! hope you have loads of fun with your ipad!
I really am thinking of moving from paper notes to digital notes, but sadly i only have an ipad 5th gen and a basic stylus. I was wondering if goodnotes has a good palm rejection software cause I don’t have an apple pencil which has a palm rejection software. Also to anyone who used notability and goodnotes, which app has a better palm rejection software for those people who do not use palm rejection software styluses?
Granger Productivity same ipad 5th gen
Same wth
U r lucky I don't have either
don’t have an apple pencil either, palm rejection is good on goodnotes. you can set where your hand lies when writing. I’ve never used notability though so I can’t help you with anything else :,)
there are palm rejection settings within the app, but you won’t have the pressure sensitivity the pencil has.
idk for me, i find that goodnotes has like... a weird writing experience. i’ve never been able to explain why, but every time i try to use goodnotes instead of notability i just... can’t do it man. it’s has a different latency/drag/response time/writing correction that i just don’t like, and it’s very oddly specific, but yeah. idk does anyone else know what i’m talking about! i think i’m crazy
Michaela omggg I thought I was the only oneee
same same same I way prefer notability
oh yeah same but it doesn't bother me haha
i keep overthinking and doubting whether ill even be able to do exams in may/june next year cause of corona since in the uk its pretty bad, so i'm procrastinating although i'm trying to be positive. those notes are gorgeous seo, y'all always pull me out of bouts of doing nothing all day 😂
violetsandsunsets I would say as a Year 13 currently, stay with it in regards to your school work. No one really knows what’s going to happen next year and your whole year group is in the same position. As the situation progresses you will find out info in regards to exams whether they are your GCSE’s or A Levels. Stay strong and keep up the work it will turn out fine in the long run.
Ana Mckenna Ochoa aw thanks for the reply! i'm sorry your a levels got messed up, that must really suck. i'll carry on with reviewing all the topics i've covered, its just a bit hard to stay motivated when everythings so unpredictable
honestly recently i have been obsessed with tech videos so thanks for this video!!
this was really good advice! even though I'm only a sophomore in highschool I already know I wanna take a science major so knowing that it needs laptop bases programs is deffitnely something to keep note of for the future
i guess it would also depend on the classes that you're taking and the kinds of programs they expect you to have? but for the science classes that i've been in so far, i do need my laptop to do a lot of the things that my classes ask me to use (ex: sapling, gaussview, excel software packages, matlab, avida, etc)
@@tbhstudying yeah I don't know for a while, but I'm just currently looking at an idea for i know how much to save up when I get a job, I'm leaning towards a two in one for i can a still take handwritten notes while being able to hold programs that I might need to use.
bro you’re like a bubble of joy i love it
Getting my very first Ipad Air 3 soon, I'm so excited ! Would love to test out taking digital notes since I have A LOT of Paper Notes around my dorm and takes up a lot of space
Ohh you seem so happy! Nice to see ☺️🤍
I highly recommend using the outlines page. It only take seconds to label it and that page will be marked that way no matter where you moved it in the notebook. It is also can be shared with the pdf so it is always there
I love your videos they help me so much with my depression and health problems and always make me feel better 😆❤️
I really like your note taking method. I totally have to try it this semester
i’ve never been this early
thanks for watching!
the handwriting tho 😭 so jealous
So glad to see someone say it paper is better it’s way better for solving maths and stuff 100%
As someone who rewrites their notes, I find that when I use paper, I would double the amount of paper I use. As part of the Eco CLub Cabinet at school, it doesn’t look good on my part nor do I want to continuously buy more and more paper. After buying the iPad Pro 11inch and sticking on a matte page protector, it feels pretty close to writing on paper. Maybe even buying a silicone nib to put on the pencil would increase the similar feeling of pen and paper. For me, it has definitely been a good switch
gah i needed this video so much 😄👍🏻
I love how you gave actual cons for the ipad haha. Like math and word and excel and using actual paper!!!
That being said I'm excited to try out the ipad haha
A long waited video! It was very helpful. YEEHAW COWBOYS!
Like if you dont have ipad and still seeing "How to take notes on ipad" vídeos 😂(Me too)
Thank you sooooo much! I am gonna get an iPad next year for high school! You’re the actual best 💓
Thank you so much! This is actually a more organized version of how I take notes and I'm excited to try this.
i had similar handwriting to yours back in high school and gosh my hands always hurt after every class, i can't imagine doing it on an ipad in an even bigger font omg
Seriously your editing is so organised and easy to watch... love my iPad too we more or less have very similar methods 😁
this is probably the best ipad note taking vid i've seen :) i'll def use this method for my summer class to see if it works for me i've been wanting to switch it up!!
thank you! glad it was helpful :")
This just makes me want to try taking notes on my iPad more and more!
The thumbnail trick is really smart!! I’ll be trying that out
Yes! Thank you so much for this video because I needed an opinion from someone who takes full notes and I really like your intake in it! I love your video! I'm subscribing!
omg i forgot about this video but cuz the new semester’s starting im here literally almost 2 years later
i love the thumbnail !! and the video itself it's very informative and effective :))
glad you think so 💕💕
hey just a note! the ipad actually has the pc version of photoshop, since 2018 i think. hardware wise the ipad is very capable and i’m sure that in a few years apps will be more and more enhanced. as it is, they aren’t perfect but i’d say they’re usable
btw u also have excel, powerpoint and word free to install on the appstore. if you have office 365, you can log in to your account and have access to more functions (not as good as the pc version, still better than the web version tho!)
This is literally so helpful, thank you 💕
I really like the way you take notes!!
thank you!
SO HAPPY TO SEE YOUR VIDEO YAY
AH! thank you for this video, soon i will be getting a new ipad since my my current one (ipad mini from like 2016) cracked and basically stopped working (can't facetime, text or really do anything) and i want to be more proactive with my notes to help me better understand whatever material i'm learning
Thank you for making this 💗💗 I’m so happy my content request was noticed. I love using my iPad Pro for notes and it’s really interesting to see how’s use theirs

i've been WAITINGGG
1:40 yay I love that you use mainly non apple products except your iPad cause that's my situation... I'm an android phone and google apps user but I clicked on this video cause I've been tempted to get an iPad for brush lettering with the apple pencil. Awesome to hear you can backup to google drive from an iPad I didn't know that. :)
i really need to invest on an ipad now, digital notes look sooo gooooood
I'm a visual person so I think it actually helps putting cute dogs in pages with just letters. I visualize where I wrote things and if i can associate it with a cute dog then it'll be easier 🤭
Which app should I get? Notability or Goodnote? I hear Goodnote is better but Notability has the voice recording feature that’s definitely gonna be useful.
I got an iPad (just the baseline one) for the holidays in 2018 and I never found myself using it tbh. I never liked the feel of the apple pencil on the screen and overall taking notes on an iPad just isn't as satisfying or enjoyable as taking notes on paper. I tell you something I love your content jiji ❤️ I am addicted to your videos :)))))
Love your handwriting
Loved the video, helped a lot!! I’m starting to take digital notes☺️ How do you divide your page into 2 columns? Because de magnification box doesn’t recognize the columns when I press to go to the next line (idk if it’s understandable 😂)
your channel is so helpful!
Your handwriting is sooooo cute!!!
I really like the color of your case ☺
And got an idea to decorate mine thank you for the inspiration
Random: I have the exact same case and apple pencil sleeve. They're super cute😊
I M SO HAPPY YAY
i always didn't know what that blue box was for when i was writing in goodnotes and i never rlly cared enough to search it up lmao my life has become much more easier!
without the magnification box, idk if i would've ever liked taking notes on an ipad haha
Likeable right from the start 🙂
The more i think about it, i dont need to write notes for engineering classes. Really, all we do is calculations and some rules that we have to remember but most of it, you dont need notes. Every circuit has its own configuration and adding resistors in the place of capacitors make a big difference. BUT, the need for ipad is very important, at least for me. In order to really master the circuits, i need to do a lot of exercises. With every practice, the circuit calculation gets faster. With ipda, I don't need to waste so much paper. And also, lets be honest, guys aren't known for keeping their notes in track and engineering students, even more so. 😅
glad to hear that the ipad fits into your lifestyle so seamlessly! hope your studies are going well and cheers ✨
@@tbhstudying it is not going well. Im legit heartbroken right now. 😢
the IPAD is really good for notetaking but if you do not have the money for it, you can use a Samsung galaxy tab s6 lite or galaxy tab s6. even though there are not that many good apps for google play to take notes, it still works perfectly fine for me as I use it to take notes in college. it also comes with a stylus when you buy it. I use the squid app and noteshelf app for notetaking.
woah you're really growing up!! you look very pretty :)
OH YES IM SO HAPPY
i'm currently trying to figure out if its worth it getting an ipad if im on the business track... send help 😩
Is nobody gonna talk about how pretty she is 😍😍
In my case i bought a 6th gen Ipad 128gb about $410 my tip is to go to the apple website and go to the education section so you can get student disscounts. BTW my Ipad is not pro and Its pretty good at procreate(one time it started crashing but it seemed to be procreate's problem cuz it got fixed. I say for most people the non-pro ipad is still worth it.
Did you create your own font and if you did can anyone access it because it looks so pretty and I kinda want to use it? ❤️
nope, it's my own handwriting
I use notability and I love it but my main problem with digital notes is the fact that my handwriting is never the same! So when I have to be fast (eg during a certain extra-fast lectures) I use google docs.
I've never had a tablet but i'm interested in getting an ipad for my future studies as i'm aiming to be an actuary. I'm really curious, do you write faster on a tablet than on paper?? Is it more tiring for the hand?
KY TH way less tiring on tablet because u dont need to use any force at all
Could you also do an updated what’s on my phone video ?
enjoyed your video😘
Hi! Love the video. If you don't mind is okay if you provide the HEX for the pen and highlighter colour
omg this appeared while i was watching ipad unboxing videos why is that
Hi, great Video! I‘m too using my Ipad to take notes during lectures and love it :) I just wanted to ask how you study with your notes - so do you just read and reread through them, do you print them out, or do you use flashcards?
Is that a muji b5 binder that you show at the end? If so do you have a hole punch for it and where did you get it :) totally agree with your overview of the iPad and digital notetaking
do you think the ipad seventh generation would suffice for video and photo editing? I make stop motions and I do photography and I'd like to be able to edit on an iPad as well as take notes, but the iPad pro is expensive, and the seventh gen is more in my price range...
i have no idea because i don't edit on my ipad ;; sorry!
So want to start taking notes on my ipad, it is so much easier! P.S. love ur videos!
I really love ipad pro
you're so pretty
can you do a video on why you dont really like digital notetaking rather than classic pen and paper notes?
