I have loved watching this again, a fantastic moment and a fantastic discussion by three talented, genuine and inspirational guys. Thanks for the memory.
Although respected as an athlete, Akabusi is often regarded as a bit of an idiot. To be honest I used to think that too, but having listened him on BBC 5Live's Fighting Talk, and now seeing this, he's clearly a genuinely funny, intelligent and downright nice bloke. I remember this happening and hearing the tatics and details of each leg was fascinating. Particularly Akabusi talking about hearing the sound of the USA baton. Love the fact they too the piss out the US team at the podium too.
Anthony Donoghue Everyone was saying at the time "why the hell is Black leading off?" (Including me, lol). But that was an inspired choice and without that lead at the 1st change we probably wouldn't have won.
What a moment in British athletics! If it wasn't for the great Michael Johnson, Black would have been a multiple world and Olympic champion. All great athletes!
If they ran this same race 20 times it would have been USA 19 to 1 but this is the one that counts oh well. The USA unfortunately took this team as lightweights. I don’t really blame them because they were but they didn’t run full speed
I'm an American, and couldn't enjoy this discussion more. Fantastic job, boys. Congratulations.
Thank you
No matter how many times I watch this I still laugh, for me the best sports interview ever ,
These guys are legends, this remains for me the greatest British team performance I have ever seen.
Akabusi is a national treasure. In fact all these four guys were tremendous athletes and a credit to their country.
To this day it is still one of my all time favourite sporting moments and I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks a lot for uploading :o)
Cracking bunch of lads...
Great videos, brilliant insight. What a tremendous bunch of guys, the perfect team!
