That was awesome footage of the Big Bull and 3 cows. Seems like the cows came out of nowhere. A Bull Moose can't even take a leak in peace, but it sure makes good video. I remember a Big Bull in the same stituation a couple years ago. You guys must see something like that ever year. It was nice seeing Libby talking about her equipment and good customer service.
I honestly was waiting for a bull fight, I had no idea that the cows would fight over the right to mate with the big guy. That was so awesome to see, thanks👍
Good morning. I'm so glad you picked up on that, he dug that pit right in Grumpy's old pit area, actually within feet of Grumpys old pits. It's just amazing.
Hey there rrb, was waiting to see your comment. This day was so special and sharing it today is wonderful. Thank you as always. Flat Top has done so much more than any 6 year old bull we've ever studied.
It's nothing short of incredible that an "All mighty King" has to take care of his place. Whatever makes this big fella happy, will only make any other bull moose well aware that he's certainly got game!! How he thrashes his massive weapons on any tree or bush, creating his own scents, stamps down his own personal rut pit. If any other solitary bull moose would somehow make his way into it, there could very well be a "chase him away" moment. Is there any wonder on how the "lead" cow comes along singing, and right to his beck and call. All other potential "contestants" venture on by to win "mating" rights. However, the lead cow, rather seemingly more "vocal" then the others, chases them away, but only in some cases, they may deem to return. She appears to be the one with the most aggression, and then goes onto settle herself in with her big master. As we can see, he certainly has his choice before him, but only the most aggressive cows get to mate with him.
Did you pay attention to all of tgeir ears. The dominant cows are back and telling others to stay away. The bull goes from cow to cow checking them to see who is tge ripest. Then he mates with her first. Tge rest wait tgeir turn but he takes care of all of tgem before moving on.
Stoled it? It probably was an epic battle. I actually seen a bull right after a fight a couple years ago. This guy was huge and had one side of tge rack broken off. He was a magnificent animal. If he'd of had tge other side he would of been legal but the side remaining only had two brow tines and that made him illegal to take. My loss.😢
Hey Mr and Mrs Moose Man 🎉. I can see how Ol Sexpot is bringing in the Babes! He's so handsome with his fresh rack😍. And his PeePee Cologne must be expensive🤣. Oh man I thought he was going to choose the furst one😢. Thanks for the great content HaHaHaHa strong like Bull! JO JO IN VT 💞💞
Good morning Joanne. Okay, you got me laughing big time with the Strong like bull....lol Alot went into this video, and we loved sharing it this morning.
The only way to get such footage is to film moose that are somewhat habituated to human scent, CG. These animals are hunted but they do tolerate humans to the extent that they live in proximity to them. Alaska is like that; moose are everywhere! That's why we go there to film them, can't get them in front of our cameras in New England in the fall, just the summer. Thanks for the ask/comment!
Good morning. It's totally okay to be wrong, it is all part of the fun. This is Flat Top, he's a dominant bull, Alexander is still trying to be. They're both beautiful
@@MooseManNaturePhotos Aaaah, I was not sure about his left first spike. Thought it wasn't FT! 🤫 The background noise I recognize. Only where I live (20 miles east of Amsterdam, NL) and I'm in the 'woods', it would be cars, cars and some more cars. hihi
What happens with moose is kinda upside down, tex. It's weird. The bull makes the pit, pees in it, and the cows come running in to wallow in it. They don't want him yet. But it is a way of keeping the cows close to him until they are ready. They are only in estrus for 24-36 hours at most. And cows don't play nice with one another as you see here!
Amazing to see these massive animals and their behavior! Thank you for showing us.
You're welcome and thank you for being a faithful watcher. It is very appreciated and we love to share our passion.
It’s incredible how those cows come rushing in. Btw they aren’t so tiny either. Love how he licks his chops.
He's repeatedly checking the air with his tongue, Moose communicate using chemicals in their urine.

thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated.
Magnificent bull. The shots from behind him and around 8:20 seem to magnify the size of those massive antlers. Very impressive. Nice work.
Thanks so much, canoedoc! He's a BIG bull and he's only 6 years old!!!

Most welcome, thanks for watching, we have new videos every Wednesday and Saturday
This was great to see! Reminded of how the cows would fight over Grumpy! Good to see that F.T. is doing it right!
Good morning. I'm so glad you picked up on that, he dug that pit right in Grumpy's old pit area, actually within feet of Grumpys old pits. It's just amazing.
He knew Grumpy was gone and so moved in on what Grumpy was doing. Keeping everyone happy.
Those 9 minutes flew by, so I had to watch it again. I wish I could give your videos a like every time I watch them!

Dang, those females are huge as well! Great footage.

Amazing footage!!
We do not get many film opportunities as awesome as this day was. Thanks so much
Grandiosos animales
Too much cuteness in the video💓💓💓
thanks so much for atching.
Amazing video. Who is the big guy? He is absolutely stunning. Nice rut pit footage. You guys are awesome ❤❤❤❤
Good morning, this is Flat Top the new dominant bull in the area. He is a fantastic animal.
@@MooseManNaturePhotosHaha. Does he come " groovin' up slowly", lol?
They meander around checking everything out first. Then it's down to business.
@@nadewitt-yf6ng My comment was referring to the Beatles' song, "Come Together", which features a character named Flat Top.
Awesome.
Thanks!
Fabuloso
How much weight is he carrying on his head with those antler? 75 lbs?
That is probably quite accurate
If it's a big guy as much as well I seen an 83 inch rack about 4-5 years ago that was well over 200 pounds.
When the 2nd cow came in and he stood, he seemed to be saying "Ladies Ladies, theres plenty of me to go around~~" before the 2nd cow spooked him XD
HA! And there is plenty of him to go around!😁
Que increíble
Hermoso
What a bull , awesome rack , that could be Grumpy’s rival. He shouldn’t have any problems with the ladies.
Hi there, this guy was a youngster when Grumpy ruled the area. he has Grumpy's same territory now. he stole it from Swagger!

That was Rick replying, Jo Jo. Pee Pee Cologne. SO marketable! Just put a French accent on that and you've got a winner $$$!!💋😂
@@MooseManNaturePhotosworst part, with a French accent people would wear it. In Alaska anyway. 😅
Muy bien
She couldn't get him out of it, so she joined him!
exactly, lol
Incredible footage. How do you get so close to moose without them even knowing you are around? Do you use scent blocking clothes?

All you gotta do is take a piss and the girls flock to you I wanna come back as a MOOSE 🫎
way funny. Could be a good plan as long as you're willing to fight with sharp points for the right to be with her...so much going on.
And that means only doing it once a year fir a couple weeks. Not my idea fir a good time!
I might be wrong, but I wonder, is this Alexander then?

What determines female dominance?
Whos the most aggressive usually
dominance comes with age and aggressiveness. The whole order of things is so complex, it's great.
Ok wait, im from Texas, there arent moose anywhere near here so im kinda shocked...are their roles reversed during the rut?
