    Adria matrix access 520 st motorhome. What likes and dislikes. Wonderful reviews and van. Full birth, 3 and a half tons. Under 6 metres in length. Good for shops. £55k base model. Many packs to chose.

    Excellent video and Adria should be pleased too. We agree re the advantages of having a 6m van but the fixed bed does avoid the one up all up as well as giving a much bigger garage. Smaller kitchen and bathroom is the compromise but we plan to be on sites and in a warm climate so outdoor cooking. Looking forward to seeing what you go for. Thanks again.

      Thanks Robin, the 6 metre Motorhome is excellent and being in warmer places make it an even easier decision. Enjoy your travels 😊 Karina

      @@HereWeTow No travels at the moment - we sold our campervan earlier in the year when it became obvious that our big trip to France was not going to happen. So between vehicles now although with the current changes re diesel and EV tech I think we are likely to wait until at least the hybrid options start becoming available. Pure fossil fuel vehicles are going to depreciate faster than most people realise over the next few years....

    • @HereWeTow

      Yes I agree with the EV..there seems a huge swing towards them and increased demand. 😊

    Great, a comprehensive and thorough review. You summed up the compromises you face when buying Motorhomes very well. We thought the kitchen looked very good and well thought out. Agree about the drop down sink, they've borrowed that from the Van Conversions. Swing wall washrooms work better in small spaces. Not sure we would cope with that tiny wardrobe on our three week trips though. Like the drop down bed that comes all the way, but I do think we'd get irritated making the bed up every night, plus we have different sleep patterns.

    Great review as always 👏 After 14 years caravans we purchased our 79 4T this year and never looked back. We find towing a little C1 behind gives us the freedom we want when we want, and depending where we stay we have the choice of leaving the C1 at home. Good luck in your choice 👍

    Hello Kerina and Jules,
    We subscribe, have always watched but never commented until now. We are retired and caravan at the moment but we are thinking of changing to a motorhome, it looks so much easier which we see as a big plus now we're getting older. We like to think we'd enjoy wild camping but I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable with that. The Adria van looks really good, not sure a pull down bed is the way for us to go, I'm 6-4 tall and that would restrict my headroom during the day. Maybe fixed beds is our best option but of course that makes the van so much bigger. What is bothering me is the lack of mobility if you go onto a site, I don't really want to tow a small car which of course is the answer this problem. Your review is very good, we've learnt so much watching your channel, it will be interesting to see what choice you make next. Keep up the good work both of you.
    Ian and Angie.

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for commenting Ian and Angie 😊 We found a Motorhome so much easier, especially if we set off with a bit of water onboard for a few nights away. We literally only had to plug in to EHU and get the levelling ramps out. If it was raining we didnt even have to do that if we didnt want to. There are a few 6 metre Motorhomes with a transverse rear bed such as the Adria Compact Supreme SP and Bursnter Travel Van. The only compromise there is they dont have an oven. Driving off was no issue for us as we had everything put away once we used it such as the kettle and pots. I think we would go up to 7 metres in length. This should still make it easy to park and get out without a car. As for wild camping, we were happy with the two pub stops we did and the basic certified site. Personally I wouldnt sleep very well parked up at the side of a road or in a car park, waiting for someone to knock on the door to tell you to move on. Maybe you could think about hiring for a week to see how you feel, personally I really enjoyed this experience and felt much more freedom. If I was touring to stay at a site for a week or two as a main holiday I would stick with a caravan as that is easy once you’re set up for your stay. If you are touring and moving around every few days the Motorhome is great. Thanks for watching 😊 Karina

    Hi again Karina and Jules
    Great reflective review. Have you decided on your next tour vehicle? We are still looking at replacing our motorhome which has a drop down bed to an island fixed bed caravan. The Adria looks great. Using the autumn months to search.

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Ken, yes we have decided and placed an order on a new motorhome. We are due to film a short vlog to confirm our choice but this lockdown may put a stop to that. We have gone for a fixed bed layout and 7 metres in length. It is a big decision to make as its quite an outlay. 😊 Take care, Karina

    Thanks for a comprehensive and very informative review . Just wondering do you think the fixed table is better than having a removable table that you find in uk vans. Does it get in the way during the day?

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I preferred this, it was extremely strong and sturdy. You can slide it in all directions so it didn’t get in the way. You can get fixed tables that fold too. It’s a personal choice but I liked it 😊 Karina

    Good detailed review particularly if You compare with the luxurious Le Voyager in this combination you see what good value Adria is. It would have been interesting to see you sat on the drop down bed at the midpoint versus it lowered to its maximum extent. I suspect many will be happy with the compromise of using the ladder (I note there is a ladder which comes out of the floor on the advertised U.K. models? ). Personally I don’t see the compromise of having to move the cushions. Neither do I particularly understand your gripe with the inability to use the loo without putting up the sink. Do you wash your hands sitting down? 😄 You mention that you would go with a longer van and have a fixed bed. I have that but the extra 1.5 m is a major consideration moving it about and parking. The bedroom is also dead space in the day and more money. Thanks

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for watching 😊 The step that was in the floor was on the 2 berth model of the 520 but I believe this has now been stopped and the option is just the 4 berth with ladder. As a lady there are times when getting to the loo can become quite urgent and to find the sink left down can delay vital seconds, believe me 😂 I would like a 7 metre Compact which I appreciate would make it more difficult to park but would give the fixed bed. There is always a compromise I guess. I like the Compact SP but you cannot have an oven in that and in bad weather you need somewhere to cook, but that is 6 metres with a fixed bed. Enjoy your travels and thanks for taking the time to comment 😊 Karina

    We are the people your video is aimed at, i.e. former caravanners (a spacious Coachman 450/2) looking at a motorhome for the first time. I totally agree that making up and putting away a bed every 24 hours is tedious, as well as time consuming. But if there are only 2 of you, doesn't a drop-down bed solve the problem? I assume that you can leave it made up when it is raised during the daytime, so the only things which will need moving in the Adria are the seat backs. Am I wrong?

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gerry, the video is for anyone considering a 2 berth drop down bed Motorhome. You can leave the bedding on, just not pillows we found. We put them in the wardrobe during the day. To use the bed yes, you take the backrest cushions away and drop the table. You can use it in its higher position and climb up the ladder which means you dont need to remove the backrests. The thing I didnt like was that if on a night one person wanted to go to bed you were both going and on a morning if you got up early there was no where to sit as the bed covered the lounge. This was me personal experience and as I say in the vlog that might not bother some people. Due to this we have ordered a Compact Supreme DL at 7 metres long but with beds in the rear. It gives you that flexibility if one of you wants a lay down during the day or for relaxing. I hope that answers your question about the bed. Thanks for watching our review, Karina

    Excellent review as ever Karina.
    So - after reading your comments it seems you are about to make the decision to move to the dark side.
    Interesting to read an honest review from a caravanner considering a MH. Something that many of us think about from time to time.
    As well as the additional purchase cost of a MH over the car + caravan combo, how do the figures stack up e.g. car insurance + caravan insurance verses MH insurance and possibly no longer need to pay storage fees if the MH can be kept at home on the drive.?
    Good to watch as always

    I'd personally rather have it running on lithium and ditch the gas, but that's just me. I guess that changes the water heating, but I'm sure there is something diesel based for that.
    When are you signing on the dotted line 👍

    • @HereWeTow
      @HereWeTow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      😊 You can get diesel heaters so it would be possible to have a gasless motorhome. With the new Thetford fully electric fridges that run off the battery that is probably where some are heading. There is no signing yet but we will be hoping to soon. 😊 Karina
