Us Rain players do so much to just touch 40%, they just gotta use the same strings and get huge rewards.

I’ve taken inspiration from your loop combo. Just wanted to add that if you hit a standing 1 b4 calling sub for the freeze, it’s much more consistent in terms of landing the freeze. Great video ❤

Is it really? Tried to do it a bit yesterday and couldn’t get the sub freeze off consistently enough to bother trying it out
They need to give rains full screen teleport back so he can defend against broken characters or something he needs a teleport
yeah his portals are useless seems like he was made to be a zoner but he literally gets beat by everyone and kameos
No sir....a zoner having a Full screen teleport is too much on top of a amored wakeup...and having kamoes give you invincibility on certain moves!??...if u wanna buff rain make his projectiles more effective to where it's a bit harder for the opponet to get in

Gurl the amount of abuse I suffer from Reiko players because of this, I swear…
I think the only real tech for that hard to block mixup is to find a guaranteed way to reduce the damage ... like in the case of Jax and Scorpion unblockable ... If the rain player begins to get lesser damage for that unblockable mixup they would be forced to cash in on the damage for 37 percent early and keep frame advantage than loosing pressure advantage in trying to go for the loop..

The SubZ freeze is so good when it works, but it can be a bit finicky:
- from 11 you need to immediately hit the air buttons for it to work
- from 122 it doesn't freeze if you cancel to the popup from the overhead, only from the high bubble hit and if close enough
- from B2 it doesn't freeze
- from F21 it doesn't freeze if only the low hits, need both mid and low to hit
- from F32 it always freezes
no you can get it to freeze most of the time it’s different timings for each string you need to look at the enemy as they fall and after the first bounce as soon as they start falling back you need to freeze it’s just frame perfect that’s why it’s hard

You can land the freeze from back 2, just the timing is a little tricky.
You inspired me to play raid, i use scorpio kameo, specially because u can use it to start a combo with anything, jump 3-2 than scorpion cameo far, press 4, and follow it up ass you want. Also work with down 2, and down down up,

Could you use jax's ground smash and rain's storm projectile at the same time for an unblockable? If the player jumps to avoid jax's ground smash, your aerial projectile will hit him. If it blocks your airial projectile, jax will cause damage.
Here's a visibility check to see if sub zero summon will whiff.... if you check and see that the opponent is being juggled after launch well below the life bar just go for your geyser ender cos sub zero will whiff..
This check should be done upon jump... rain being slow sometimes has its advantahe of being able to hit confirm lots of things... this is one of them
The 1 1 confirm into the metered launch also tends to whiff subzero alot so if you you have conditioned your opponent really well with the forward 3 2 launch ... after 1 1 they may let go off block and then you sneak in and go for the more consistent meterless launch which rarely ever whiffs subzero...
CONSISTENT DAMAGE IS WHAT WHAT GETS WINS NOT DROPPED COMBOS...
11 never whiffs if you hit your air buttons as early as possible, its a matter of when you hit the opponent in the air that determines whether sub will miss or not@@cudknacks
@@Mufire1991 not everyone has lightning reactions like yours ... the meterless launch pretty much never whiffs.. because the launch is right infront of you..the meterless launch is away from you... if the opponent isnt super close you may whiff.... always go for what's consistent you only go for flashy or inconsistent when the game is about to end.. that's how you get more wins..

You can spend Sub-Zero freeze and instead of doing the set up u can cash out damage with charged projectile into charged 4 into any ender

Been using Sub as my kameo but I’m constantly dropping his freeze after I juggle the opponent in the air. Can’t seem to figure out the timing.
Try to do the air 243 as high as possible
I saw someone using this last night and had a hard time doing it too. I found when you land you can quickly dash, do a stand 1 into freeze. It make air a lot easier!

What do you think NRS could change to make rain a better zoner? At the moment I find that most of the cast can either teleport around rains projectiles or simply out zone him.

Rain with Sub Zero is the only way i can play him as he gives rain great combo damage along with making his slow af moves viable. I hate though that there is only 1 kameo i like playing with him 😭
No you can use multiple kameos with him. I run primarily scorpion and cyrax do really well with them. But i can also use sub, and frost and do just fine.

@@Anbu_Tommygunz all good. I paired Rain with Darrius in the beginning as I enjoy using Darrius the most out of the Kameos but eventually switched to sub because sub covers rain's weak spots the best and now I find don't want to play him with anyone else
sub does make rain feel really good I'll be honest... I think he's probably my favourite too, but I want to get good at using ambush kameo attacks since it still doesn't feel natural to me

Yes! It makes it -2 on block which is good to start forcing pokes or to just get a portal out safely

weird though, how it's better on block than on hit. But it gives you something to aim for in a hitconfirm sense, on hit combo, on block portal, optimal.

I don't think spending the meter for the launcher is worth it given he can combo into the freeze without it.

Well this confirms that Raiden still has one of my least favorite playstyles.....i just cant stand how he plays in every game. MKX might be an exception, but just barely lol
I think rain god and the ground geyser are just too slow.
I wish rain god would do something interesting... the storm cloud animation is SO cool but its just another slow projectile 😭

He’s actually fine the only thing he has going on is high damage. After how terrible he was in mk11 he deserves it. As far as opening your opponent up it’s kinda hard as Raiden. Whoever gets opened up easily is new or doesn’t know what Raiden does. If anyone ANYONE in this game that needs a massive nerf it’s SMOKE

raiden wasnt even that bad in mk11? if you at tier lists towards the end of the game he was in a good spot.. and damage is not all he has.. He has 50/50s which are both safe, corner carry, plus frames, chip and amazing staggers.e @@JustANERD71
