This was actually recorded live on a French TV show in early 1982, they did three songs, this, Attack Of The Zorchmen and another that has been lost to time! This is actually the second line-up of The M3t3ors, PPF Guitar/Vocals, Nigel Lewis Bass/Vocals and Woodie on Drums. Sadly not long after this Nigel & Woodie left to form the escalators with original M3t3ors drummer Mark Robertson & later the Tall Boys. Unfortunately PPF has totally dismissed anything featuring Nigel, Mark & Woodie in the band and there remains many unreleased recordings and videos both live & studio from those early days that PPF refuses to release.
Both were truly great bands at their peak, but the Cramps were never as good after Bryan Gregory left & the Meteors were never as good after Nigel left.
When Bryan left the Cramps they lost a good guitar player, but Kid Congoo replaced him very well,as long they had Nik Knox on drums, every gig was awesome....
Wrong, this wasnt one of the early gigs it was Nigels last ever performance with The M3t3ors, a recording for a French TV show in April 1982 two years after he formed the band. He left a week after recording it. One of the other two tracks (Attack Of The Zorchmen) he used a normal bass guitar.
@@chrisr5499 Original drummer Mark Robertson had left a couple of months earlier after an invite to join 'Theatre Of Hate' (an invite which was then withdrawn). Woodie replaced Mark & also RJ Pathetic joined just after this video was made. Nigel wasnt happy that PPF was taking control of the band & its direction so he too left rejoining Mark to form the escalators. Ironically Woodie also left soon after & also joined the escalators. The fact that since formation in 1980 The M3t3ors have had so many different line-ups with PPF being the only original member tells you all you need to know!
Can't miss out on a good argument, so here goes - the Fuzztones and Beasts of Bourbon go well with the Meteors and Cramps too! (Go right ahead and flame away.)
Black n white, grainy, psycho horrorbilly at its most disturbing. My girl hates shit like this. But it only took one viewing, and now she has this queer attachment to it. I think it stopped her DEAD in her tracks. As to become mesmerized. Everything about this clip is as though it was, and always has, been this way. A perfect moment of time.
yes. the cramps were more influenced by 60ies garage trash things and the meteors more by 50ies music. these are different things real psychobilly has the soul of the 50ies!!! mental one
1/2 sized bass? god thats gotta be uncomfortable!, ive played half size before, after about 20 minutes my back hurt like a bitch! 1/2 size is only good for sitting down to play if your over like 5' 8"
Bad pastiche of "I was a teenage werewolf", just some guys trying to look scary and bad. Rock'n'roll should be dangerous and sexy but this is just UGLY MUSIC. Light years from THE CRAMPS
Gives me Goosebumps!!! What a Song !!!
...that's why it's called Psychobilly ;)
In musical history this should be up there with the best imo
Wow that brings back memories
oh that scream......poetry indeed!
still a definitive classic
nigel lewis was well received merci
Yes, he is also the king of Psychobilly ;)

Listen The Cramps AND The Meteors are great can we please stop bickering like little children
No
The influence that you guys have put on music has reached as far as South Africa. You guys rock!
its like a combo of punk and blues
not punk. *psychorockabilly*

Third song was ,,insight,,
Surprised that PPF never got a kicking of Teds, Rockabillys, and the Scooter lot as he seems a bit of a wanker from certain vocals poit of view.
this is because fenech is a primadonna and a twat.
nige was the greatest influence in what became known as psychobilly.
Wowwww!!!!Thats a fucking great performance!! Never heard it live..It was the first song i heard by The Kings and changed my life forever..

Brilliant! Saw these supporting the Cramps around this time.
I am trying to imagine how high Lux n Ivy's eyebrows went when this lot supported them. Good grief.

Fuckin fantastic tune, many great gigs at the marquee as well. Maniac rockers from hell!
one of the rare early gigs with a double bass !!!

How did this one slip by me? Great stuff.
Such a great song, makes me wanna start smoking
Nigel never smoked, he like to play football too much. Wasn’t a bad player, scored a few good goals in our team over the years.
