  • What Bulthaup is to Germany and Valcucine to Italy, Kvänum is to Sweden. Now in its 96th year of establishment and owned by Niklas Efraimsson, the name Kvänum Kök is from the same name village of Kvänum in Sweden. This company believes in hand crafted kitchens which meet the demands of their premium and luxury clients.
The employees are so embedded with the philosophy of this organisation that the owner also listens and lets them decide the road map. The detailing and depth of expertise is seen in every aspect of their kitchen production and design. Niklas, his brother Magnus and their father Lars who have been to India to visit Tarek Utturkar and explore the market were happy to take Tarek Utturkar around and let him through the secrets of Kvänum's success.
Kvänum produces around 1500 kitchens which range anything between INR 40-80 lakhs. Kvänum Kitchen believes in wood as the raw material for its kitchens and gets its wood, Oak, Ash or Walnut from Sweden. On questioning Niklas on growing his business by investing in India, he answered, “Tarek before I invest in India, the unknown, I would rather invest to increase my business here.” Sweden has half the population of Mumbai so one can only imagine the potential this industry has in India, only if one has the right philosophy and focus.
