I'm guessing you've since moved the bag closer to the handlebars to eliminate the gap between those portions of the bag and tank closest to you? I just installed the Pro GS bag on my R 1250GSA and your video was especially helpful--first pointing out I'd purchased the wrong damn ring, and showing me how to put the whole mess together--thank you for that! By the way, I lived in Milton from '68--'70. Shocking how much the place has changed since then.
You are welcome. You are correct. I have moved the bag closer to the handlebars. I am glad you found the video helpful. How are you finding the Pro GS bag?
Nice to know you lived here when this was a beautiful small town and now it's all over the place with the growth. I moved to Milton 11 years back and I feel it has changed a lot. Ride Safe!
Hey Amer, be careful with that bag. I had an SW Motech Engage (not the same as yours) tang bag on on my 2016 GS and rode from Florida to Alaska. Twice while in Canada/Alaska the cable mechanism refused to release and I had to disassemble the bag to get it off of the bike. It wasn't too horrendous a task but I needed to do it twice. Once off I could not see anything in the cable mechanism that was caught or hung up in any way. Your bag appears to use an updated mechanism but in the event you do have an issue, at least know you can disassemble the bag while it is locked on the bike to get it removed.
Looking forward to your trip reports.
Thank you for the heads up. I have had some issues at times to release the mechanism but I thought that was just me trying to get used to it. I will keep an eye on it more now.
Apparently, it’s iron ore dust/particles being thrown up from loose surfaces which is magnetically attracted to the mounting magnets and it causes it to jam the mechanism.
Nice work Amer! The bike is coming along nicely.
Thank you. Finally it is almost ready for the trip!
Very nice! I like that and looked at it but wimped out and just went with the Tusk. Thanks for the video!
Thank you my friend. Tusk is a pretty good one too. I honestly didn't look around much just had a couple of options and based on reviews online I went with this one.
How do you like the Tusk? I'm researching various tank bags for the GSA.
Great setup, you gotta have a tank bag to be a serious adventure rider 😀. I'm old school so I also have the map pouch that goes on top of the bag. With a heavier jacket you may have to adjust the bag a little forward 😉
😂 so true...it makes you incomplete without it. I would love to have a map pouch as well but I know I won't use it. Thank you 😊
I might look into adjusting it as well. The real test will be this weak testing while riding.
I have the 2022 model ...... you are so helpful and thank you so much !!!! 🙂
Thank you for watching the video and I am glad you found them helpful. Ride safe 🙂
Nice video keep it up.
Nice installation Amer. I’m looking for a tank bag for my 22 GSA and I have 2 questions - is this one expandable? I’d like to be able to carry a small DSLR camera. Does the bag block your view of the TFT?
Thank you! The bag is expandable and your DSLR camera will easily fit. I have tested it and my Sony A6600 with its lens fits in perfectly. The bag doesn't block my TFT view either. That is the reason I didn't push the bag towards the TFT while installing. I will test it again while riding as that is the real test.
@@AmerSheikh Excellent - thank you!
@@Hogdriver88 You are welcome. Ride safe!
Hey Amer - still liking this tank bag? Any issues, and does it have a pass through for a USB cable from the accessory power outlet at the handlebars?
It's a great bag and I travelled with it on my last trip to PA. Easy to carry all accessories and travel essentials. It does have a pass through for a USB cable which is very useful. You would just need to buy a longer cable if you are stretching it to the handlebar.
@@AmerSheikh Awesome - thanks Amer for the info 👍
Hi. You have some cylinder's head protection, what is it?
Hi, that is the Machine Art Moto cylinder head guard.
@@AmerSheikh Thank you
out of interest is your bike standard height? and how tall are you?
It's a standard height bike but I have ordered and installed a Sargent Low Seat now. You can check that in my new video. I am 5'8" in height about 173 CMS.
Thanks!
You are welcome!
Thanks a lot
You are welcome!
Not very well explained and the camera angle was no use at all
