HAHAHA!!!! Your reactions on the ending was priceless. I am the creator of the concert video from this Koiai show. It's my bald head running around in the camera pit shooting and I edited this. I can tell you that really is the ending on the song. However at the show the next song kicks in almost immediately so it becomes a conduit from one to the next. That said, "A New Picture" is also my favourite song from that show as well. Live vs the studio recording it's chalk & cheese with the Live version kicking serious amounts of ass.
I had a similar reaction man! We need more of THIS from KOIAI! Their first single was like straight up pop. Also, yes absolutely you should release your MV! I’ve been waiting for 6 months!
Hazuki is a technical wizard on guitar. Just check out some of her Ibanez demo videos for signature Ibanez guitars and products where she's playing technical Steve Vai level instrumentals. She might look a librarian, but the girl can shred!
"Holy shit, where did this come from?" Same sentiment I had upon coming across this. THIS, is what KOIAI needs to be doing instead of the Pop/Shred approach they've had. Just melt faces. Make people go "wtf". Amaze folks with sheer ability.
Kanade Sato has mainly been a jazz fusion drummer over the years. She is only in her early 20's but has been playing in jazz fusion bands since she was 15 or so. First in Ear Candy Jazz Factory and nowadays in Muses as well. She also plays on solo albums (and live) from her Muses bandmate Rie a.k.a Suzaku, which tend to be more metal and hard rock based with a shreddy/progressive edge. You can find recordings of her from when she was really young (in her teens, maybe even earlier) playing pretty complicated things in mall blowing peoples minds and she has covers of jazz pieces by Dave Weckl. I just saw she has a Karate drum cover from when she was 13 on her channel. I recommend checking the channel out if you want some great drumming.
I'd also add that she was in an NHK steampunk musical children's show called Musica Piccolino for a couple of years where you can find her doing covers of things like Don't Stop Me Now by Queen and Biltzkrieg Bop by The Ramones. There were other drummers over the life of the show, but you're best bet for finding her bits from that show on TH-cam is to search for the Japanese title, ムジカ・ピッコリーノ.
She would wear a little sparkly tiara when she played on stage when she was young.very recognizable. She is several years younger than Senri Kawaguchi but even at that young age and having Senri as a mentor seems to have elevated her drum skills to be able to go from rock, to jazz to this incredible darling with extraordinary artists.
Just shows their diversity and skill. Actually, this type of stuff is Hazuki's prefered style. She gave an interview just before Saki left where she said that she'd like to bring more metalcore, Prog-ish and Djent style stuff to Nemophila. I mean, her favorite bands are Children of Bodom and Arch Enemy
Ok you guys, and Wave win reactions of the year. Both to New Picture. You guys reaction is freaking priceless 🤘, and Waves smile all the way through, heh. Incredible song.
Waka-san needs a permanent invite, Po! They can be epic! 🦍🍌 This is what happens when you ask Prog Jazz fusion folks to try Prog Rock/Metal in Japan, lol! Btw, they opened for The Aristocrats in India at the Odd-ball fest 2023. Great company to be in. Now try "One Way or Another," an omaze to AC/DC?
I agree, but I have a feeling she is a bit too busy with East Of Eden, Marty Friedmans solo stuff and all the things she does as a session musician. Wakazaemon would be a great fit with a drummer of Kanade Sato's caliber though.
Koiai are an awesome chill band. Love them. Hazuki and Lisa X together are brilliant. 🤘 drummer is KanDe Soto, great drummer. Hazuki incorporating more 7 string rythum in their music, maybe. But yeah: LisaX, Hazuki, Waka, Kanade Sato, you have a supergroup in a ways. Maybe sometime down the road, Lisa X could easily play with Nemophila, here and there. Yeah I hate great songs like this, so short 🤣🤘
I've got a feeling the days of her being underutilized in Nemo are over. Hazuki has been the greatest wingman guitarist to some of the best. Narumi, Saki, Lisa-X, but now she is flying solo in Nemophila and it is glorious to behold. In their new Rise video in particular, Hazuki has a totally new sound and attitude. I can't get enough of the new Hazuki. And Lisa-X is amazing here as well. I noticed she is adding more feel to her impressive technical skills. Basically becoming more like Hal-ca of Asterism. That is a good direction to go. If KOIAI got a permanent bassist equal in skill to the rest of the band and they did more songs like this, becoming a Japanified Dream Theater, they'd be my favorite band.
On this live bluray Hazuki performs 2 songs "Jaquar 13" and "The Trooper" solo. Nice they threw in this mix as well as others. Top it off they included an autographed photo which Hazuki shared on her Instagram.
Kanade! Her future is whatever she wants it to be! There is nothing she cannot play and look bored doing it! She's actually a good fit here. Koiai needs to fire their studio producers though. The studio stuff is waaayyy overproduced, though I guess that could be said of all my favorites in japan lately. Live music is best!
Koiai needs to drop the pop and move in the prog-metal direction. If they're smart, they'll fill the void left by Rush by making complicated and technical music that is still sometimes radio friendly. I'm here for it. Kanade all day! ❤
Kanade Sato was a child prodigy and is a fantastic, top of the game and one of the world's best drummer. She does mostly Jazz fusion. Also, Hazuki is in her Super Librarian look for the band.
I kinda chalked this one up to youthful songwriting. The pyrotechnics were absolutely dumbfounding, but it seemed like a sketch for something larger. I have no idea if KOIAI is a temporary pick-up project, but I sure hope it's meant to last. Either way Kanade Sato is a huge get. She's a virtuoso drummer and known quantity in the fusion world, but would love to see her in a more prog rock environment.
Did I see in the chat someone call that reggae? 😂😂😂 😂 Nothing wrong with the way they ended it. That’s the problem with western audiences they want things finished with a nice neat bow tie. I’m surprised at you guys because I know you’re into the Asian rock/metal scene. Disappointed!
No doubt, with this singer's singing ability, her voice would be drowned out by the musical instruments. Perhaps as a last resort, the speed and volume of the musical instruments are kept low when she sings?
The singer is Kotono, and she sang in the metal band called Ironbunny. Although she is not a guitarist, there is also a video called ‘Kotono plays Lightning Speed’, where she tries out guitar a bit. Anyway, you can evaluate her singing from Ironbunny, a group that seems a lot like BabyMetal. 🤷♂️
What cave were you living in ??????😂 You had no idea who or what Koiai is ??? Really ??? Did you prepare a video for comments on a band you had no clue about... Come on...

Mad guitars! Love this I would like to see more like this in the future.
Chłopaki : najlepsza reakcja którą widziałem
4:30 I was like, what's next?... hard or mellow... toss a coin... head -hard, tail - mellow..
That's how I call it...
Head or Tail song.
Awesome song!
LENKA goes metals😂
Left you wanting more, didn’t it? That’s the beauty of it!
That’s just a taste of what this group is capable of.
Great talent all around!

Kanade also drums for ALMONDot, but is not a member, you'll see Kanade in the videos.

Kotono(vo) was one of BABYMETAL dancer as Chosen Seven (dark side era)
I loved the reaction guys, got me laughing after being awake for 5 minutes. Have a great day!
“Welcome to Dicodec stream, where we pause excessively “ 😂
Indeed haha 🤘
This is a superb demonstration of the talent lined up in Koiai.
Proggy as all get out, dig the direction they are going
I have a feeling this will be Hazuki’s year!
Instantly my new favorite song. ❤
"How many times can we pause in the first 15 seconds of the song?"
"Yes."
Lol you're right. We had a lot to say about this one though. This was too good not too discuss! 🤘
Japanese female music talent is on another level in the world today. Totally make male band look cute
The lefty base player is Wakazaemon, who played for Marty Friedman's American Tour last year.

The coolest song I’ve heard since Spiderweb by Brats. So much imagination and musical dexterity. Video editing is top notch too.
And Hazuki..
Sooooo glad to here this from Lisa and Hazuki!!!
Hear😅
You must be hear it : Hikaru Utada - "Automatic" (Dirty Loops version) / covered by KOIA
🤣Great reaction gents. I don't think I saw it mentioned, but that was also Wakazaemon on bass. This band has potential for sure.
im loving it. ( marty friedman and paul gilbert vibe)🤟

I love this song, including the ending
Damn. This is actual 🔥
That's also my reaction in the end 😂
That was Queen circa 2024. Loved it.

Спасибо, дорогие!
Kanade freaks me out. 🧐
lol I totally forgot about this. This is how to properly troll Dicodec you all 😀
You guys need to get a life you never heard of kanade playing drums since she’s four
Sorry dude, we hadn’t really heard much about her until recently. It’s unfortunate but hey we’re glad we found her now. She’s definitely a prodigy 🤘

She is Kanade Sato, not Kande Soto.
Yes, thanks, I know her name, just a typo.
Kanade means “kanaderu”(play an instrument)in japanese. She is friends with another genius,Senri Kawaguchi
Cool!

I agree with the Hal-Ca reference. This band has serious potential.
💯%

Kanade: Kanade Sato
KOIAI? Oh, yeah, I know tha.............WTF!!!!!!!!! Library assistants turned expressionless assassins.

Love this song! What a ride it took me on. Their best so far for me. Love it when a song leaves you saying WTF?
Hazuki underutilized in Nemophila, thats for sure.

Kanade = Kah nah day
Waaaaaay too many stops. Let the song develop before jumping in with comments.
90 seconds of commentary. 15 seconds of song. Who needs context. amiright?
Did I see in the chat someone call that reggae? 😂😂😂 😂

Do not make cheesy knock off band shirts of KOIAI if you are not a poser.
What cave were you living in ??????😂
You had no idea who or what Koiai is ??? Really ???
Did you prepare a video for comments on a band you had no clue about... Come on...
2 pauses in 5 seconds?.. I'm outta here.
