I can feel the burn in my shoulders after being out for a long while and the rush of the wave picking me up and dropping in. Thank you Nathan for bringing the stoke onto dry land!
Sooo beautiful 😍 thank you for catching those dangerous hollow beauties for us, Nate. The look on your face on the boat to the reef, shaking your hair in the wind, reminded me of an excited puppy with its head out of a car window! Your love is pure and it pours from the screen. I won't ever have the skill or the gumption to ride this wave, so I'm deeply grateful that you share it with us 🙏 😌 👏🙌✨️🤙
On behalf of us old disabled surfers ........thanks for reminding us what it means to live ! You can't get any more alive than pulling into barrels over a foot deep razor sharp reef !
What a beautiful day and glassy conditions, that water is crystal clear. I would love to see the reef at Teahupoo, maybe next time your there and its small give us a 1st person view of the reef. Love your vids mate and a big hello from Australia's west coast. Come back soon 🇦🇺

Primo clear water ! Your video was also nice and clear too. Hey thanks for this new channel how you are going to target beginner/ intermediate surfers. I started surfing 7 months ago at 41, and watched one of your older surf fitness/ paddling videos that helped me out heaps! Just subscribed, hello from New Zealand. Thanks Bro!
It's always in the back of my mind. You're out taking some nice glassy surf in a epic spot. Everything is perfect and then , suddenly without warning you look outsidand here it comes , a Rouge Wave 30 + ft. Njet skies and no escape . It breaks on you , your held down , finally you come up and there is 5 more rolling in and you get tore up.
One time i was just at the beach chilling in the waters when a giant rogue wave comes to me, and then it just breaks on me, also when the rogue wave was about to break in me there was like 7 or 10+ people just looking at me then i turned back and that was when the rogue wave break on me.
I must give a shot out 2 go pro because I sure never would of seen the inside of a giant scary barrel at teaphoo or seen the inside of a massive barrel at jaws thanks go pro and thanks “NATE” for having the ability to let me see what I would never in my life of seen, much Respect

Essential to be a strong swimmer because you can not rely on your board for safety. There are other surf spots on Polynesia that have no crowds. In fact I've never seen them in any magazine or TH-cam videos. I'm not going to name the island, but it's got 7 islands in its group. Hahahaha. Oh, it's not too far from Tahiti, relatively speaking .
This is what I think of when I think of the perfect wave. Clear glassy water, hollow, mountains in the back. Perfection
And only a few other friends who take turns like they should. 🤙🏻

That’s why a lot of people wear helmets there.

That water is so clear it looks like you are hovering over the reef. Wicked video brother.
How deep is that reef? Do surfers hit the bottom/reef often?
How shallow is the reef at the takeoff on a size like this? Seems way shallower than a super heavy day
It is definitely way more shallow, and people often get hurt on these days! Prob 2ft deep
@@NathanFlorence that’s crazy dude! Talk about a freaking cheese grater

Is Teahupo'o more difficult to surf than pipe?
It can be more intimidating but pipe is a more challenging barrel

Not Hawaii, Teahupó
The GoPro makes it so manageable but I know that is an insane challenge
What’s the water temp there? Also, do surfers open their eyes when they duck dive?
This is great. Still I get sea sick when I watch this footage after lunch. Its funny cause I never got seasick while surfing.
