  • Today's video comes as a request from a viewer named Jake.
Jake is a white belt and ask for some Arm Bar techniques that work well and are easy to learn for beginners in Jiu-Jitsu.
In this video I'll give you guys 2 different Arm Bar techniques that can definitely help you out if you're a white belt in BJJ (or any belt level for that matter!)
For both techniques I'll point out some minor gripping details that I would use in both the Gi and No-Gi BJJ situations. On top of that, I will teach you some basic concepts to help you hold the position tighter and keep your partners posture broken.
I'll also introduce some different guard variations, starting from closed guard, like the Diamond Guard, which help me secure my Arm Bars when I can't catch them quickly & how to take advantage of common mistakes White Belts make when they're stuck in someone's Closed Guard.
Hopefully if you're a White Belt, or really anyone who wants to improve your Arm Bars for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or MMA, then you found this video helpful.
    Thanks for watching!

Never miss one with Adam in it. His silence says so much and it is all funny.

I find that the BIGGEST tweak is to squeeze your knees together. I adds a magic amount of leverage that makes it deeper and tap sooner

Too right squeeze your knees together and grab the fat of the hand, and bridge up. I'm an improving arm person. It's amazing seeing it done properly though.

No one’s gonna kill you bro especially if they see you are new. The instructor might not even let you live roll just technique so expect a good workout but don’t be afraid

thank you for that, I dont kno why I am so nervous but I am but something about this makes me really want to attempt to learn it. I know that I will struggle but I really need a change in my life and i think this might be it. I am just going thru things I never thought I would be dealing with. I thought I was stronger mentally but I am not@@Themostchillalcoholconsumer

Ain’t nothin to it but to do it. The only real fear you should have is getting obsessed with bjj 🤙

Thanks Adam! Great demonstration. Chewy... you were definitely there.
FR, learning these triggers is really helpful. Elbow on chest=armbar

I like the diamond guard set up. You can move to alot of other techniques from there depending on how your opponent reacts.

Perfect video for me, 2 stripe white belt. I like chokes because everytime i armbar i screw it up and lose position. Been working on armbars alot lately.

Can you do an arm bar video for common situations where opponents tend to get careless with their arms or you baiting them into it? A common arm bar I like to do is getting an overhook on one arm while in bottom guard then threatening the cross collar choke. When their other arm crosses over to defend, I'll almost always get the arm bar. I'm interested in more arm bar tactics if you're able to make a video on it.

Great instructional, but could you get Adam to quiet down a bit? All his yapping made it hard to focus. =p

Can we please start referring to Adam as Spirit Fingers (Jazz Hands would be an acceptable substitute)
