Olympiakos is the biggest club in Greece. I'm 51 years old and I'm a big supporter of this family. Olympiakos for ever
Actually there was a tragic event when the gate 7 collapsed on the 8th of February in 1981. 20 supporters of Olympiacos and one supporter of aek Athens died, when Olympiacos was celebrating for his win 6-0 over aek. The celebration turned into horror and death... A memorial is put outside the stadium, and we remember them with a memorial ceremony every year in that day. They're known as the victims of Gate 7.

It was no collapse in 1981 or whenever in any stadium in Greece.
The tragic death of 28 fans that suffocated or got squeezed to death on February 8th 1981 just after the end of a 6-0 victory over AEK Athens FC was due to someone's negligence to open the TURNIQUETTES of Gate 7 that caused wildly celebrating deporting fans to stumble en mass..
I was there, jumped over the turniquette half a minute prior to disaster..
I saw ppl down, heard the screams and the agonizing call for help..
My friends draged me away telling me there's nothing we can do and we should go home to our parents..
No mobiles back then to call them so they know we're ok..
Last time i went to Karaiskakis stadium for many years..
As an olympiacos fan I have seen these scenes from very close . It's like an ecstatic atmosphere

Trust me this is the real meaning of playing at home. Usually in the big rivalries no children and women attend. The atmosphere is so intense, your legs go numb literally. The same clubs have also a basketball team, a volleyball, water polo even ping pong! The hard core fans usually have their gates always. The atmosphere is even more intense in the closed basketball stadiums.

Every club usually have a tifo group and fans donate money.
These huge tifos are painted and assembled by fans with artistic skills.
And then the tifo group and the organized ultras are there hours before the game to set it up and prepare.

so Olympiakos is a team based on the port of Pireus in Athens Greece, most of the fans are workers in one way or another at boats tug boats or fishing boats or commercial boats. So every year after inspections all the flares in those ships gets replaced with new ones and the old ones the workers take them and they open them at the game.
