I started cruising over 42 years ago, mostly to The Caribbean,Mexico,South America,Nova Scotia,Panama Canal to name a few,my friends and passengers i meet always told me an Alaskan cruise is the most beautiful,so seven years ago i decided to book one sailing out of Seattle and i was hooked, been sailing every year, except when covid hit...I don't cruise for food or entertainment anymore,i had my share. My time is spent on the balcony, sipping wine and enjoying the scenery,i don't get off the ships either, unless i want to grab a bite and a few beers in port, then it's back to my balcony..I have been in May,June,July and August...In May we had weather in the 80's at the ports....I won't sail in April and September...i also like the long nights...
I have been on 2 cruises to Alaska, once in May and in September. We lucked out with beautiful weather both times. The cruise in September was awesome because many of the shops had their products on 50% sale because they close the stores in October. I got a bunch of really cool T shirts for 1/2 price.
I went in May 2012 and wore a T Shirt on top deck. Yes it can also be foggy and misty, but generally we had a fabulous time. From Vancouver, Cruised to Sitka, Skagway, Ketchikan, Tracy Arm Fjord, Icy Straight Point and Juneau on the Celebrity Millennium.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 I haven't, but I've always wanted to. The only issue is that in May it CAN be just as misty as it was (when we went) beautiful whether. I wore my T Shirt on board and at the Taku Glacier Lodge whilst sitting looking at a huge Glacier. This is the BEST Cruise that I have ever been on and I have been on 9 others, and I love the Celebrity Cruise ships, especially the Solstice class and Millennium class. My wife and I Cruised on the Celebrity Apex a couple of months ago and I didn't really like it as much.
As I was raised on the northwest coast, one comment that struck me was about Chilcat eagle population. The Brackendale Eagle Preserve near Squamish averages more than 1300 eagle. Eagle counts have surpassed 3000. This is a short excursion from Vancouver and we’ll worth a 1/2 day if you need an Eagle fix.
Thank you for this video! We sailed Alaska at the end of May/early June in 2023 and loved it. Decided to book a late September one in 2024 and have been a little nervous that it won't be as amazing.
@@Yoko.Kurama unfortunately we didn’t. According to the different tour guides and locals, late May/early June was still a little too early in the season for bears to be seen. We saw a ton of whales, bald eagles, and seals though!
Alaska Or Bust. June 2024, On The Grand Princess. Cruise and Denali. 97 days before starting the Journey. Fly to Vancouver and Fly Home From Fairbanks. Dome Trains, Landing on Glaciers in McKinley, Paddle Wheel River Boat In Fairbanks. and so much more. Bucket List Biggie check off
I took my first cruise to Alaska last year on Discovery Princess, and we sailed in July 2022. We vlogged the trip on my channel - feel free to take a look - but we got some fantastic weather!
I picked my cruises for next October 2024 (Doing Back to Backs on NCL). Now, I have no clue if this is going to work, but I assumed that these weeks so far late in the season (Mid October) would mean possibly less people on the ships. And, with that the opportunity to possibly upgrade to a balcony or suite for much cheaper than just buying them out right. I could be wrong and will be stuck in my inside cabin, but I know I will find amazing spots on the ship for viewing
hi, I also booked NCL this Oct. my experience is their upgrade options where very random, i.e. they sent invitation to upgrade to my friends who booked balcony room, but not to us who booked window room. And we are the one who actually want to upgrade to balcony room 😅. And the upgrade is a bidding system. The bidding price is not cheaper than if we booked at the beginning. We put 350 USD for the bidding and it shows we are in orange. only know the result 14 day before on board. Of course, yours could be different. I hope you will get it
Just finished an October 9 day Alaskan cruise. We caught some bad weather and one night had over 26 ft waves. But the cruise before and after us had much better weather!!
Balcony cabins are the first to sell out,and loyal passengers get the upgrades first,I have been traveling with Carnival for over 42 years and sailed on their first ship The Mardi Gras...I am also a Diamond member....The Perks i get is amazing...My last Alaska cruise,i had a bottle of Champagne and fruit plate sent to my room at 6pm every evening and a bottle of wine at my dinner table, even if i ate at the paid restaurants..So if you enjoy cruising,do it on one cruise line until you build up that royalty...We have been on many other cruise lines also...
Hi looking to do the same cruise in September on the HA Nieuw Amsterdam can u tell me how your experience was? Also what deck u were on? We r currently looking at Deck 5, 6, 7 & 8
We had a great time. We did the land portion first. Denali was well worth it. We saw lots of wildlife and the southern peak of Denali. It was also nice to get to the ship and relax after the busyness of the land portion. I cannot say enough about awesome the crew was! In Skagway we did the White Pass rail and went into Canada. We also did whale watching in Junuea. We saw orcas, whales, and sea lions. We had a wonderful time! @@elaine7877
@Eatsleepcruise1 Not this year but we have been there 5 times and would not hesitate to go again. Northern Europe and the South Pacific are in our plans for this year.
@@Super396chevelle Cruise was good, flight home was a disaster. Major thunderstorms in Chicago closed the airport. Was diverted to Minneapolis and spent 9 hours in the airport waiting for a flight.

Seriously hoping everyone understands that cruise ships are some of the worst polluters on the seas. Canada is getting much more aggressive with discharge rules, thank goodness! I sincerely hope that the new regulations make these cruises economically unviable. The inside passage is one of the most precious areas of marine biodiversity on the planet. Oh and all those little trinket shops in the ports… owned by the industry. Want to seriously avoid the crowds. Buy a sailboat and explore. Again the cruise industry is destroying the seas. Be a better human, travel in a more environmentally conscious manner.

We just got home from our end of October 2023. We were so lucky to have great weather the whole time! It was labeled as rainy season

In my trivial opinion, May seems to have the best balance of conditions.
