Every time you pop the tape in, The machine shuts itself off due to the common fault of all Funai VCR's After the first 6 seconds, it shuts the player off and when you turn the player back on, Ejects and it will give the VCR an Internal Error Letter: R

When the machine cools down it WILL play for more than six seconds. The reason it shuts off is bacause the right reel gear sticks which could be a mode switch issue. Remember i showed this symptom at my house in December last year. I may make a video showing proof that it works normally when first plugged in. At least it doesn't crisp up my tapes by making that grinding noise. But on the tombstone vhs the chinese made common ones, at the beginning, it makes a quiet grinding noise meaning the gear that turns the tape is struggling to turn and it seizes causing the tape to come out and if i put it on ff search it does it to the point that it gets caught up in the pinch roller capstan and it doesn't reel the tape back in sometimes on random tapes. Like i said it will work better when cooled down. Also the same thing happens when you rewind or reverse search a tape to the beginning clear leader it keeps turning and the right reel doesn't move causing the tape to get rolled up in the capstan sometimes for the first 20 seconds of the tape.

My Panasonic VCR works great and it rewinds good, and Panasonic is not Funai.
