I got really lucky without realising^^. The plane crash island (and the corresponding achievement) was one of the first small islands I ever found in the game. Haven't found it since on subsequent playthroughs. Pretty wild if you ask me.

My friend was super puzzled when I showed up with a captain's hat. I was happy, but only later I realized that even after playing 120h+ I haven't seen that island again.
I'd like to comment on something that I heard used to be possible, go in Creative and place + paint a ton of Foundations to get the Builder and Painter achievement. This is not possible anymore, I tried it and didn't get those achievements that way, however I found a way for the "Builder" achievements with very limited Resources. Triangle Foundation! Costs 1 Plank + 1 Plastic, you place with the hammer and break with your Axe to get all the resources back, so all it takes to get that achievement is Durability on your Axes. I hope this helps anyone grinding for that particular Achievement.
6:39 I got this achievement with a friend as we were trying to see if it was possible to drive the snow mobile onto the raft and take it to different islands. It didn’t work, even after several tries. The vehicle makes contact with the raft proving they both have collision with each other but as soon as we tried to move the raft the snow mobile stayed in place causing it to fall off disappearing as soon as it hit the water.
I kill all poison puffers with a sword. I typically bow the shark once when he attacks, then swim after him after he runs away and hit him with the sword. Best Tricks!

Ok, I know this vid is old but I have a question: I completed Tangaroa (and the rest of the storyline), but realized that I have 2 more Butlerbots to disable to get the achievement. I went back and none are roaming the streets anymore. The plastic stuff and trees respawned, but not the bots. Will I have to do another play-thru to get this done?
I cannot see the progression of my anglerfish achievement, and I don't like reseting shenanigans to get achievements. There are so few of them on the map it takes ages. Couldn't honestly tell you if I'm in the thirties or near 50

the 5000 is one of my hardest one till now.. as i made my raft so efficient traping all of the flotsam. i neglect hooking it in my early games. so now i have to hook stuff for hours.. still 2k to go.
Yeah, the saving thing only works when trying to get different contents in like a safe or briefcase. The type of Tiki Mask stays the same like how a dig is a safe vs briefcase vs scrap. i still haven't gotten my last tiki piece either 😅

Why for the love of everything holy, does everyone think the spear and/or sword/machete are the best for fighting things!? The Bow and arrows are the best, hands down! You don't have to get close, you can dodge a LOT easier, and well, you don't have to get in melee with the creature you're fighting! Bow. always the bow peeps! Even with stone arrows!

same for me, after 50 minutes of playing and only small islands i got the boat small island and we even got to see an whale in the 15th minute

The "pling!" also seems to be considered a hidden achievement on Balboa. in my game at least it was. look for a bike near Mama bear's location

You can enter the Tangaroa box secret room easier once the basement is drowned by diving into the opening from top.
The ZIP Line achievement can be get on varuna point, too.

My friend and I drowned like 20 times while fighting the rihno shark and then the normal shark swam to the rhino shark

Have all up to chapter 2, except the 5000 hookings one. C 3 this week-end.
Drop item stacks in the water and pick them up with the hook. It will count as the amount of items in the stack.
