Thank you for breaking this down. The four steps have been a thorn in the side. It's often felt tentative and i've never felt secure. Consequently i would regard the walks and side step as a means to whatever came next rather than seeing the movement as an end in itself. Having observed James' footwork, and with practice, I'm confident of a noticeable and marked improvement.
