reminds me of ace combat x mission were gleipnir launches multiple missiles that also have shockwaves but instead effects are on altitude instead of area in radars . ps ace combat x and joint assault are the only ace combat games i played prior 💀. i just bought ace combat 7 few days ago for sale.
Yep it is very common for Ace Combat games to make references to previous titles and the titles you have played are less known but still ok so you should have a blast with AC7, i recommend you play if you can or watch from somone the titles from the golden era of ps 2 AC 4 shattered skies, AC 5 unknown war and AC Zero the belkan war and then replay AC7, you will enjoy understanding the references both gameplay wise and lore wise and hopefully fall in love with the franchise as i did.

Is this simplified controls or are you just that good at moving the camera?
I use simplified controls (I play with mouse and keyboard) but all camera movement is done by me manually
