This guy lays to sh-t any notion of one’s fingers not being long enough for a six string bass . Totally unique presentation, what a great player and demo! Wow !
I didn’t realize this was a little person until I saw his hand adjusting the pedal. Man I busted out laughing in joy because my brain kicked in and I was blown away how his small fingers can play better than full size fingers! Bro you are a beast! Please do more demos!
I bought this unit because of this video. Everything sounds really good. One thing I wasn't expecting: the lights behind the words are REALLY bright. Much brighter than you see in the video. It's very easy to see what mode you're in at a glance, and I was able to scroll through the presets straight away without reading the manual. Thats the reason they use the slightly non flexible interface of fixed LED backlit words over 'soft' LCD displays, for brightness. UI is exceptional. Plus the screen is super easy to read, you get the patch name lit up in giant letters that fill the screen in an automatically maximised scaling. This alone is huge in a live setting. It's got to be the most visually accessible Multi FX out there.
Finger length really doesn’t matter much if at all on bass lol (Obviously excluding extreme cases where someone’s finger length affects basic human functionality)
Finally....someone who can actually do this unit some justice. I've been waiting for someone to do an actual "demo" of this unit. The only thing that was out there prior actually steered me away from considering another multieffect board. So much better when the person doing the demo actually has some understanding of how effects can be utilized with bass. I'm back to seriously considering this unit
He's fantastic -I was always put off playing bass because I had small hands - this guys hands are smaller than mine and look how great he is - Sir I will never complain again and your video has led to me ordering a base - take care mate - John UK
My man is GROOVIN'!!! AND he quickly puts to rest the "you can't play a full scale bass with small hands as he rips on a 6-sting"...Beast Mode! Big Mickey C definitely should do more reviews.
Absoulutely Amazing!!! There are 2 Super Stars in the video presentation. Great unit and Big Mikey C really sells it. Like Kenneth said, get this guy to do every demo. I love how he says, wait a minute I messed up, let me do it again, then he even inspired himself so much that he gets up dancing. Fell out my seat. Been looking for a true unit for only bass guitars. Others say bass and guitar but only demo with guitars. I'm buying this unit and hope the sound quality is as good as it looks. Rhythm track and lenght of looper a really big plus. Mikey C, thanks for the excellent demo and your very enjoyable personality. Would love to meet you and see you perform with a band. Love your bass runs. Well done. Zoom, pay this man generously, he deserves every dollar.
First time watching this guy - he’s awesome, what a reviewer, you’ve won a sub from me 👌 He’s persuaded me to buy a B6 too haha. Also a quality bassist too, respect man
Mikey totally nailed it!! and sold it to me. Was/am on the fence with this unit but after seeing this demo, I'm definitely getting it. This demo is the best one I've seen, and Mikey has an amazing sense of humor. I laughed several times. And on that same occasion you've got a new subscriber!! I'm definitely going to see more demo from Mikey!!
Thanks to your video, I decided to buy one and now I have it! It's a great tool; Even 4 different DI tones without effects are great and useful. Thank you for your clip!
I agree about the finger length thing. I tend to have shorter fingers myself and always struggled with 6 string guitar on certain chords. This guy plays like a BOSS!
I actually had to delete my last comment because it was all just user error on the reasons I was experiencing set backs with my B1X4. I’m so happy that it was just settings issues, because Zoom makes what I consider the best effects in the game. Their effects even rival many analog options. Shocks me how powerful their little B1X4 is, with how much is built in it, with the effects quality being so good I’m sometimes preferring it over my analog pedals, and that’s only a little over $100! So the B6 has to be awesome. Their stomp boxes and distortions are excellent, as well as the amp models, synths, octave stuff, reverbs, and so much more. They pack so many great features into their stuff too, like drum patterns that you can actually work with that don’t sound like trash! I’m now really excited to try the B6. I only wish they just included the expression pedal with it. Hope they do another version with the expression pedal built in.
I've owned one for a few weeks now and am an intermediate bassist and guitarist. The most important aspect is that you just spent $500 on a large handful of pedals instead of $3000 plus. The second most perfect aspect is you can dial in the proper "Punch" for your Rig. I run a bugera tube amp to a 4x10 and a 15 Eden cab. And this machine helped me dial in the perfect punch for my Rig. Let's call the rest of the versitility icing on the cake.
I plugged up my six string one day out of curiosity. So it got me to thinking. Which lead me to noodle around with some strumming some low end chords along with my bass line and my people this tool Will help you take yourself to the highest Heights of your Ability and help you learn to break those barriers. Just balance your time with music theory study and free expression and you will find yourself.
Nice demo - thanks. I’ve had my B6 for a few months now. The patches are great but I’m having trouble using it in a live performance setting. A lot of the tunes my band plays require different effects at different points in a song, so in an ideal world I’d have immediate access to 12-15 patches at any given time. But here’s my issue - if the unit’s in Bank/Patch mode you can only see one patch at a time. And when I put the unit on bypass to for example use the foot switch go to the next patch I want to use that’s 4 away from the patch I’m on, the bypass is disengaged so I trigger every patch between where I started and where I ended which doesn’t work if you’re mid song. So then I changed to the Memory setting which allows me to see 4 patches at a time, but much to my chagrin, the only way to move from one bank of 4 patches to the next is by clicking the touchscreen arrow which is obviously impossible in the middle of a tune. Am I missing something here or is this unit really designed this impractically for use in a live performance setting for a bassist that needs access to an array of patches in the middle of a song? Really hoping this is just user error since like I said before, the patches themselves sound great.
The beauty with a device like this is that Zoom can respond experiences like this and push out an update to help suit every player. It will be interesting to see what they do with the software in the future!
@@CosmoMusicTube I did reach out to them a month ago and never got a reply. I had really hoped there was a solution I wasn’t aware of, but since this appears to be a major design flaw for live users, I’m afraid this isn’t the unit for me or for a lot of my low end brethren intending to use it during live shows. Anyone interested in buying a very lightly used B6 with pedal?
@@ingmarkalkman4368 Great suggestion Ingmar - I don't understand why any of the customer service folks I spoke with at Zoom didn't make the suggestion, but the Preselect setting allows me to jump to a patch several slots away without changing the existing patch until I land on and select the new one. It's too bad they don't offer the same capability while in Memory mode so you can see and scroll through 4 patches at a time, but this definitely makes it more usable in a live performance setting. Thanks again!
I got one of these a month ago and wanted to see how others are using theirs. You have great bass chops! I grew up on level 42 also, but even with the B6 I still can't play like Mark King.
I just wish there was a mini version of this, for what it can do it's huge, you could easily cut out the entire right side and move the rest of the buttons so they weren't 2 miles apart, all I just want to see is a modern dedicated pedal for bassists in the style of the much smaller head rush mx5 or hotone ampero 2
great demo and playing, man! I'm going to sell my Boss GT-1b and get one 🤩 I like the synth bass sounds, too. Flashlight 🤩🤩 PS I saw Level 42 playing in Vienna, Austria, just after they released their first record. They played for just 50 people, but it was one of my best concerts ever 🤩😎🤩

I have been looking at these after seeing the price tag on a Kemper profiler stage .....this just might be my answer for gigs that doesn't set me back 2000 bucks!!!!!????????? But it MUST be more player friendly than the HX Stomp!!!!
I love Zoom. I had all models from b1 to b1 Four and B3 and B3n. B6 offers nice features. But one important thing is missing. Parallel effect chains. Sorry. Mates. But this is state of the art in 2022. And was popular since the 80s. Different EQ and effects for the low and for the high frequencies. I tried to simulate with splitter and blend on the B3n but it is not like Helix, Darkglass or Orange‘s bass butler. What a pity.

TRUE. I'm very self-conscious about my "short fingers", but Mikey kicks ass with much smaller hands than mine. Thank you for your inspiring playing!!
Thanks for the kind words .. much appreciated!

One of the best reviews of this pedal. It's on point, no bullshit. Also, Mikey is a pretty badass player!

Can't wait to have this in the Philippines. Did a quick search and official Zoom distributors here do not have it in their radars yet.

Great walk through Mikey, the best one yet for this pedal. Any idea if you can also have the rhythm playing while you’re doing the looping?
Yes. But you can't control the rhythm (pause it for example). Only the loop
