Something interesting about the setting is that the district is a place IRL that was mostly burned down in a fire in 1913. So who knows, there might’ve actually been demons IRL at some point in Japan’s history 🤯
oooooh, so it really was a "fire storm" huh. lol
DAKI and GYUTARO's mother died of natural causes of the venereal disease "Syphilis". Flies are gathering at the beginning of GYUTARO's flash back immediately after DAKI's neck disappears, but it is probably the corpse of his dead mother. Even after he died, GYUTARO couldn't handle it, and he probably left it for a while.
"Syphilis" is the Japanese name for "BAIDOKU" and is written as "Plum poison". The real name of DAKI is "UME". "UME" is "Plum" in English. Her real name, UME, comes from "Plum poison" = "Syphilis". GYUTARO's lean body, ugliness and black bruises are also caused by her mother's "Syphilis".
UME was ridiculed by her samurai about GYUTARO, and she struck her samurai's eyes with anger.
GYUTARO and DAKI were at the fork between heaven and hell.
At first, Gyutaro didn't try to stay with DAKI because he realized that DAKI could go to heaven. Because DAKI didn't kill people when it was a human UME. Gyutaro remains in the form of a demon, but DAKI returns to the form of a human and is on the side of the light.
That's why GYUTARO shouted, "Go in the bright direction on the other side," and tried to send DAKI to heaven. But DAKI chose to go to hell with GYUTARO.
This anime is just a fictional story, but I can't help but hope that they will be happy brothers the next time they are reborn.
what a beautiful ending to what felt like eternal angst 😭👏
I honestly didn't expect such a happy ending.
Remember that they also have the Kakushi crew (those guys dressed in black) who clean up after the battles."Kakushi" means "hide."
rose was even wondering where they were. They do good work!
These first 3 arcs were the slowest in the manga and look how hype ufotable made them, can't wait to see their interpretation of what's to come. Dude was disappointed there wasn't more death? Careful what you ask for...
heheh , what can i say i love high risk. sounds like what is to come will be very fun though.
Your GROUP REACTION is the best.
thank you!
素晴らしいディスカッションありがとうございました。
Thanks for your reactions!
The arcs after the announced Swordsmith Village arc are much more dynamic since a relative (apparently her mother) of the author was ill and rushed the work to finish it and not leave it on 'hiatus'; in my opinion it was the best because that way the story doesn't drag on unnecessarily like it has happened with others. So this is just going up! Greetings and we will be waiting for the next season and more reactions!
ah ok , sounds like it will be interesting. Thank you for watching with us so far!
My theory: Gyutaro had sickle cell disease/anemia his character design and blood demon art leads me to believe this. Great discussion so excited for s3 and seeing Mitsuri in action💓💚
Pretty sure it was a birth defect due to his mother having syphilis
@@starkillahx hmm that makes sense, the mom could passed syphilis to Gyutaro as well
@@Diazarys Yep! It's called Congenital syphilis, and syphilis was a huge problem in any impoverished area. In fact, the place that this show's location was based on ( Yoshiwara district, Japan) had a particularly large number of people infected with syphilis at the time period the show takes place in ( the 1910s.)
The voice actor for Gyutaro also voices Akashi, Fukurodani's "Bokuto whisperer", in Haikyuu.
cool thanks for letting us know! we loved him in haikyuu
Gyutaro chose for the both of them to turn into demons because Ume was almost dead. So since she did not chose to be a demon, she had the chance to go to heaven but chose to be with her brother instead.
Since she could choose to go to heaven it Comes to show that even what she did to the samurai was justified, that man probably did some fucked up shit or at least wanted/tried to.
Season 2 was an amazing ride the stakes were so high i'm happy everyone made it in the end after nearly dying so many times the back story for upper 6 was put together well and also sad as hell and demon slayer is now in my top ten when it comes to my favorite anime now i can't wait for season 3.
That upper six in the flash back ranked up. You’ll learn more about him next season.
Could've jus not said anything since theyre anime only and jus let them find out on their own
@@beanieweanie535 You right, my fault , thought I could clear up the confusion about him
@@beanieweanie535 He’s da average manga reader losers like him can’t help themselves to spoil
@@noneya4158 You right I’ll hold that L

Nezuko can't do anything for the master. Muzan cursed all his future descendants when he became a demon. That's why the master is sick hence the "sole blemish on my family" comment.
One of the important things is that Nezuko changes the outcome. She does for a lot of these in other fights as well. She completely destroys the advantage that the demon has. That's why no one dies. If not for nezuko, Uzui, Tanjior, and Inosuke should have died. But she has the power to use blood demon art.
Opposite to the demons so much so that she nullifies them. She really came in clutch.
He's now upper 2 lord douma he was upper six 100 years ago and he's the real demon with no feelings 🤭
Tengen: "I've lost an arm and an eye."
Obanai: "Sooo... Your still coming to work, right?"
Humanity and society failed the two siblings tremendously. It comes as no surprise that they became demons and doled out the same pain and suffering back to humanity. All they did was put a mirror up to society. After all the things those two siblings went through and had to endure, if we are being real, most of us would turn out the same too.
Born into the lowest class and the entertainment district, no less. Being named after a venereal disease that killed their mother. Which is dark and sad.
Giyutaro essentially became a demon to save his sister. Tough decision to make. When one becomes a demon, they give up their humanity, that’s part of the condition. Which is why all the demons lose their memories.
Gyutaro can't go into the light/heaven, as you can tell he is still in demon form. He knows he has to pay for his sins committed as a demon, and was ready to burden all of it for Ume as well. Ume reverted back to her human form and was given a second chance to enter the light/heaven or be reborn in a better life of Samsara.
It wasn't her decision to become a demon, it was thrusted upon her. But Gyutaro underestimated his sister's love and affection for him. How could she be in paradise knowing that he will be suffering alone undeservingly. She wouldn't be able to live with that. So in the end, she chose to journey to hell with her brother.
After the Swordsmith Village Arc, The Infinity Castle arc is amazing. I hope we're all around to see it.
She stab the dude because he was talking trash about her brother
always had each others back.
Ume means plum in Japanese. Plum's also like the word Syphilis which is a kind of STD. Ume' mother died of STD. So Gyutaro said Ume's also a terrible name.
I like how Uzui's wives are the literal female version of our main boys! it kills me evetime because Hinatsuru is obviously Tanjiro, Makio is definitely Inosuke, and Suma is for sure Zenitsu! lmao
Not that I know for sure, but I think the corpse in the beginning of the flashback was the mom. But it was a while after Ume was born. "Ume" means "plum" 梅, but the venereal disease syphilis is also euphemistically called ume 梅毒 (baidoku).
Muzan said that the members of the Upper ranks had not changed for over a hundred years. A century is a hundred years. He didn't say centuries, which would imply more than 200 years. In Japanese, he said "over a hundred years." Now, consider that Gyutaro/Daki were Upper Six, and the Upper ranks hadn't changed for a hundred years, and it must have taken some time for Gyutaro/Daki to move up to Upper Six. It could be possible that before Gyutaro reached Upper Six, some change could have happened... like a member or two being killed or a change in the ranks. Like that rainbow eye colored Former Upper Six could have died or even moved up the ranks.
gotcha! poor girl got named after a disease .
@@ReactCity Well, in normal circumstances, Ume’s a perfectly fine name. Incidentally, while not officially confirmed, it’s generally thought that Gyutaro’s appearance and scratching/itching is from congenital syphilis.
@@Hananotaka oh so its a name first and a slang for syphilis second?
@@ReactCity “Ume” simply means “(Japanese) plum,” and can be used as a name. It just also happens that the term for syphilis in the old days was “plum poison,” because the red rash symptom resembled the color of a Japanese plum.
iirc, ume was slang for syphilis which was the disease that killed their mother. yeah gyutaro appearance was a direct cause of her mothers attempt at his life. it wasnt mentioned in the anime but ume stabbed the samurai for insulting gyutaro. twelve kizuki can rank up or down and usually fights for their position and that guy that gyutaro met is still an upper rank in the present storyline. muzan can technically make more upper moon provided they had enough potential but you guessed right that it still takes a lot of time to get them to the current power level of the current upper moons.
gotcha! So poor kid was named after syphilis. No wonder she changed her name.
@@ReactCity
As a Japanese I have to give some corrections.
Ume(梅) is actually a popular women’s name in that era. The meaning is plum that blooms tiny little flowers in February to March.
Syphilis in Japanese is written as 梅毒. Literally means plum poison. I don’t know where the 梅 come from but it is the thing.
Daki(堕姫), her name as a demon, means Fallen Princess. It’s not a good name either. I assume Muzan gave her the name.
@@masaaki1969 gotcha , so its kind of like how people use fruits as euphemisms for genitals. Ordinarily the name would be fine but in context it isn't
Gyutaro's Mom had the STD Syphilis, she infected Gyutaro with it in the uterus. Congenital Syphilis has a few different symptoms than STD Syphilis, like irregularly notched teeth, blotches and pustules, skeletal deformities and such.
Many of these demons were people who were in such unfortunate circumstances that they had no one to look up to. The only difference between them and a demon slayer, is that they were approached by a demon first.
And then the demon instincts took over their humanity and they became monster.
The last episode is heart touching and i feel bad For what happened to daki and guitaro when they are alive😢😢😢😢
Now i have to wait for next season, and when it is coming i just eagerly waiting...
Do you know when the new season coming???
Did you notice the last few seconds Gyutarou wore stripe kimono, not demon figure. That means he will not be demon again. If Ume(Daki) didn't chase Gyutarou,he maybe still demon.Gyutarou was saved by Ume and Tanjiro.
They didn’t deserve hell….man they grew up with the shittiest hand a person is given. Then tormented by humans…fk not fair
@Lee Brown i can understand that but its sad. He did everything for his sister. His actions was to make a better life for her
No spoilers for the next arc, just gonna say that I won't be surprised if it's as early as winter 2023 or spring 2023. The next arc is basically as long as this one.
About the upper rank demon's position 26:16... I think either they're killed or Muzan took their "upper rank" tittle. I just remember Kyugai, the demon with 2-3 tambourine in Tsuzumi mansion (season 1). He used to be upper rank demon but Muzan took the tittle away (mark from his eyes) because he's not "killing human enough"
That demon used to be a lower rank, not an upper
Not a spoiler but just something to give you a heads up, no hashira has killed an upper moon in a hundred years until gyutato died, so you can make theories from that info, not gonna spoil tho if you don’t want to
@@TheTrueGOATS i mean, whether it's lower or upper rank demons, Muzan can take their title away whenever he wants, right?
Me da curiosidad que tanto anotan en los cuadernillos que tienen en mano xd
Rose is so beatiful and funny, love her
I heard Ume was supposed to be syphillis but i don't know about Gyuutaro
Also Uppermoons can challenge higher ranks than them to get a higher rank. So the former upper 6 who recruited the demon siblings could be a higher ranked now
Gyuutaro means "debt collector"
i think muzan gave upper moons permission to give blood..idk for sure, but that guy with rainbow eyes was the former upper 6 but he leveled up because of the amazing skills he has.. u will see him more in the future
its possible that the former upper 6 is now an upper 5 or better
Yall really skipped the beginning of the episode with out knowing 💀🤣
I’m the first to comment! PRAISE ME! I love you guys channel and content! ❤️💕
