05:21 yeah its ok but the difference is that this is something that is orchestrated by the arena or NBA and i would assume only lasts for the duration of the song, in Eur we sing chants created by the fans and its not orchestrated by the club or arena, and we do it for more than 90min nonstop(in football). Good video tho i see you have a pretty steep growth curve, dropping a like and comment for algorhytm. Europe sports are way less commersial aswell, the first chant in Europe in the video is translated to ”oohh you fagg*ts, your fathers are ARIS fans, your teams a wh*re and your fans are rats, you always run away from us, you cant do otherwise” its Greece, ARIS Thessaloniki. Sports in Europe is not just a free time hobby, different clubs have different political opinions, some far right and some far left, so its not just about the sport, its a lifestyle, politics and passion. About the flags catching fire, sometimes flags are made out of B1 treated polyester, its more expensive tho so not all flags is like this.
Look in the upper left for the teams and locations. I lived in GR from 2001 to 2005 in Athens - and went to one basketball game. It's as nuts during the regular season. My ears rang for two days. Non-stop chants and standing/jumping. I actually would not go to a football game - too dangerous. Really. I lived near/10 blocks from the Panathinaikos football stadium, and whenever I stepped outside, I knew when there was a home game: I smelled tear gas. Fans would (overnight, when there was no one there, thankfully) Molotov cocktail opposing fans' club house locations around the dates of important matches. It's all part of the club system: for example Aris, AEK, Olympiakos all have a football team, basketball team, volleyball team, etc. Men's and women's in many sports. As for the nuttiest places to see a game? Anywhere in the Balkans, Greece, Turkey, Israel. There is fun article (maybe 3 years old, from SI?) where a reporter was interviewing Luka, Ntilikina, and some other foreign rookies, and he asked them if they were intimidated playing at the Forum, MSG, Boston Garden, etc., and they just about laughed at him - as in, are you kidding us. Look for some of the videos of ex Panathinaikos and AEK Greece players talking about playing there.
I was beginning to despair of Young Ametican Males who rush to turn the sound down as soon as the "Loud Sound" sign appears so I am glad you did succomb to that. I am 70 years old in under 2 years in London and I say Turn It UP 😀
You might want to react to the Anacreontic Society Song! It's a British drinking song of which the music for was stolen and used for the American National Anthem.
Here in the UK I think we do have a Pro basketball league but it's a very minor sport with not much interest outside it's core fans. I couldn't tell you the name of one team never mind any player,. In continental Europe, however, a lot of football clubs are multi-sport so they'll have a basketball team, other teams, some even have cycling teams ...... this explains the fanaticism as these will be soccer fans, Ultras. supporting the clubs other sports teams (and from the sound of it singing the same songs !)
@@tylertheamerican1858 I saw a video where the Aris fams (the people at 6:44 ) took their drums and stuff and went on to make some noise on the highschool level Aris team for volleyball. It was funny because on one side where just normal parents watching their kids play and on the other side where the fans with the drums and the flags as if the Champion's League Finals had come to town :D ... As long as it is their team, they will be there, as their songs say. :)
I find it extremely odd when people in the US don't sing their national anthem. I'm a terrible singer but play the Scottish national anthem, trust me, my neighbours would hear me, loud and proud.
America probably would have the same passion if they knew the team was gonna remain in their city forever. If the stadium is bad a new one will be built in the same city. Tottenham's new stadium was built on the site of their old one and they moved to the national stadium which is still in north london whilst it was being built. My team built a new stadium in the 90s and they moved it to a different part of town but not out of town
