If you notice, there are 2 ways to tell the difference between males and females. 1) The 'hello' for males is slightly quirky while it is honeyed for females; and 2) The males have no eyelashes while the females do. This is especially helpful when using bizarre themes. I felt like the player could've used the 'couple' mechanism to their advantage quite a bit, but were either overwhelmed or purposefully avoided it for some reason. Edit: Didn't equip the maid uniform even after purchasing it🙄
