I still think it's one of the most moshable songs. I saw Guttermouth at Warped Tour in 2001 at the LA Coliseum and they played the smaller stage and killed it! The singer Mark climbed up onto the speaker and jumped into the crowd to crowd surf. I took pictures of it and there's a small chance my mom still has it in her house.
Every time Ive seen Guttermouth, Mark has always been just out in the crowd mingling with the people. Most people don’t realize it’s him until it’s showtime and he just walks up front, climbs over the barricade with no hassle from security and he starts singing. I think thats pretty badass. 🤘🏻
it is fkn sad that the vast majority of fans seemingly want to be musically stuck in particular era. Mark's correct in regards to the 'got it made' and 'new car smell' EP's that then became one as 'the whole enchilada 2xLP. I remember at the time in '16, yelling from the gaybar urinal that guttermouth have just arguably released their most consistent and solid work since 'ants'. the point, freckles, made, spud, walkabout, soundtrack...shit, basically both EPs are devoid of filler. attended at least one gig minimum of every Australia tour since '97. don't get me wrong, musical monkey played complete in '23 was awesome, so too was the '24 tour for covered in ants plus a tonne of other songs. but yeah, im one of weirdos who is gagging to hear more new material in sets. it was like the most recent lagwagon aussie tour....hang and railer lps are absolute bangers, i froth on both of them. legit at a new peak of brilliance... anyway its a 'pick the set' tour... its the only time ive left a lagwagon gig, kinda like, not in an off my head, high asf, just full stoked on the show. i predicted ahat the set would be and yeah no surprise all the usual old stuff... great stuff don't get me wrong. just we've all done this every tour. c'mon people.... come live in '24, leave the 90s behind, embrace the new stuff or stay home. serious.
Next time doing an interview during Gutter show, from the audience...sound quality might be better though🎉 Also, why not ask Mark about Derek, Jamie, Scott, are they still in contact, or deceased, or whatever?
