Thanks for sharing these great ideas! I actually laughed out loud when you stamped the sentiment upside down. It is a nice reminder that we don’t have to be perfect to make great cards.
I come for the sense of humor! I can always count on having a fun chuckle. and of course how easy you make card making look. Its very raw/original. You remind us that card marking shouldn't be stressful. Thank you for that! I always look forward to your videos. keep them coming!!
Hi Laurel! I love your videos... Hey I noticed you were one of the guests speakers at the craft room organizing event coming up. Is there a link for us to get tickets under you? Thank you! 😊
I love the cards... but really loved you showing the "accidents". Man, how many times these things have happened to me, and I bet lots of other people. But it all works out in the end. Once I put the panel on upside down . So I left it that way and when I was writing my greeting I did a P.S. that said "Did you have fun figuring out how to open this card?"
coloring is therapy. when i taught high school science, i had coloring books and colored pencils for anyone who completed their work. you'd be surprised how popular that activity was. they would tear out the pics to take home/give away. :)
Laurel I so love your videos, you are the best! You teach me techniques, you make me laugh and you show me how to make wonderful cards so thank you and have a fantastic day. Hugs x
Thanks so much!! You're awesome!! Love your style- the way you explain things- and your techniques. Plus you make us laugh!!😅 Great results on these cards. I will have to try some of the ideas... :)👍❤
What if you are making a card for a guy who loves orange and is way more into Shakespeare than Marvel Superheroes? I think there isn’t really masculine and feminine when it comes to card design. There are enthusiasms and interests. Favorite colors. Color schemes. Color preferences even. Look at how many name brand card makers love blue & green. Especially “pool” . What even is pool? I’ve never seen a single swimming pool that looks like the card stock or inks labeled “Pool”. But I digress. If you design your cards around someone’s interests and use colors they like, it eliminates any design dilemma--at least as far as theming goes. Even if you are making for the masses rather than a specific person, designing around interests still works. And you can mix up the colors by making multiple versions of the same card. I like the cards; I’m not complaining about these specific cards. I’m saying we create difficulty where there really isn’t any. Laurel said she’s a Marvel nerd and these cards would work for her. My bonus dad would not recognize a single Marvel character. Especially as cosplayed by a moose. 🫎 However cute he is. Once I made my husband a Valentines card based entirely on my enthusiasms. It had all the colors of sunset--oranges, purples, pinks, reds, and a little bit of yellow, way more gold ‘cause I like glitter, foiling, and heat embossing. And yes, I added all of these. Tons of hearts. Lots of flowers. Guess what? It’s his favorite Valentine card I have ever made him. It’s also okay to give the ones you love cards that represent you. Put your 💗 heart in ‘em. Don’t stress and don’t overthink it. We’re supposed to be having fun. Play with all the colors. Play with different themes. Mostly just have a good time.
Laurel, I laughed out loud when that stamp came out upside down! Thanks for leaving your booboo in and showing us how you recovered! I don't need any more stamps, but dang those moose are cute! You've shaken me out of my girly groove. Thanks!
You could have turned the text on the first background right side up, peeled off the moose heroes and coffee cup and stuck them to the top of the same card! You might need to add a floor under their feet unless they can fly - not that flying around while holding a coffee cup is the best idea…
OMG Laurel, these cards are so cute!! I love superheroes, too! I'm not into too many critter stamps, but these are so fun!Definitely will have to get some. I love your videos, you are fun to watch and I learn how to be more open and fluid watching them (not stressing about perfection). I recently bought some CP inks & reinkers. They are nice! Thank you for sharing your talents!!
