Honestly mast, I think seeing more ranked game play on the channel would be cool. If you wanted to I know I've watched all of your ranked vids and I know I'm not the only one! Love your channel my guy
Mercury/Hermes is known for his speed, fast as thought which the Egyptians mixed him with Thoth as Hermes Trismegistus. He is also Messenger, Traveler, Thieves, and I think the poor somewhere in there. Arke and Iris were also messengers of the gods who were as fast as light and representative of a rainbow until unfortunate things happened to Arke in the Titan war.
Mast is correct about Mercury beeing the "Roman version" of Hermes tho. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermes Hermes (/ˈhɜːrmiːz/; Greek: Ἑρμῆς) is an Olympian deity in ancient Greek religion and mythology. Hermes is considered the herald of the gods. He is also considered the protector of human heralds, travellers, thieves,[4] merchants, and orators.[5][6] He is able to move quickly and freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine, aided by his winged sandals. Hermes plays the role of the psychopomp or "soul guide"-a conductor of souls into the afterlife.[7][8] In myth, Hermes functioned as the emissary and messenger of the gods,[9] and was often presented as the son of Zeus and Maia, the Pleiad. He is regarded as "the divine trickster,"[10] about which the Homeric Hymn to Hermes offers the most well-known account.[11] His attributes and symbols include the herma, the rooster, the tortoise, satchel or pouch, talaria (winged sandals), and winged helmet or simple petasos, as well as the palm tree, goat, the number four, several kinds of fish, and incense.[12] However, his main symbol is the caduceus, a winged staff intertwined with two snakes copulating and carvings of the other gods.[13] His attributes had previously influenced the earlier Etruscan god Turms, a name borrowed from the Greek "herma".[14] In Roman mythology, Hermes was known as Mercury,[15] a name derived from the Latin merx, meaning "merchandise," and the origin of the words "merchant" and "commerce
Doubt you’ll see this but fun fact for anyone reading this. Mercury is the Roman messenger god (need to deliver messages quickly). In the British Army here my unit is the Royal Signals where our cap badge is literally mercury with Latin ‘Certa Certo’ which means swift and sure :)
35th attempt at asking Mast to try out Merlin Solo. Only requirement is that you start Vampiric Shroud for dummy thicc sustain in lane, rest is up to your gigachad brain.
Never noticed that Merc gets a big power buff from out-of-base movement speed before. Not sure how to use it to hurt anything except maybe phoenix/titan defense?
Hermes/Mercury is the messenger god. Traveling great distances with his marvelous speed in order to relay messages to anyone. He’s also known as a trickster and is the Greek equivalent of Norse pantheon’s Loki. Except he’s less vile and evil and more of just being a dick who’s also too fast to catch. His rod also represents health hence why in the game (Rod of Asclepius) enhances healing for magic users.
Hermes was the messenger god BUT he was the messenger because he was so fast lol, so they incorporated that part for the game rather than being a mailman
You may have to revert your driver update. Since the last Nvidia update of 3/22. I have had massive stutters. Ended up reverting the update and don't have the issue anymore.
Mercury is the roman equivalent of Hermes the god of speed, travel, theives, and is the messenger god of the gods atleast as far as percy jackson is concerned
Hermes has a lot of subcategories, but it basically boils down to he was the god of anyone who uses roads. There are subtle differences between Roman and Greek versions but I'm not wanting to go and fact check
Mercury is not the god of speed in any way, he is the god of tricksters and the messenger of the gods, he is also the one who takes souls to the underworld, poor guy has his work cut out for him.
You all probably don't care about this but I need to tell someone: yesterday I started playing ranked conquest for the first time. My account level is 87 and I have quite a lot of mastered gods (5 of them are diamond), at least to jump into bronze ranked, or so I thought. I've been playing casuals for more than a year and watched a lot of youtubers to learn tips, mechanics and builds. I've started sh*tting on people (not being toxic, just beating them) on almost every role and I was tired of people trolling or playing in non-competitive ways, so I wanted more of a challenge and jumped into ranked, confident that I wouldn't have found too much difficulty or difference from my usual casual games in terms of skill required, aside from others playing more seriously (which is always what I do even in casual modes). Turns out that I suck. I went from dealing 45k player damage with a god I was trying in conquest for the first time the other day to dealing 13k in a 40 min ranked game with Arachne, that I've always rocked pretty well. That's not the only case: I'm finding myself sh*t on in every other role pretty much and others insulting me are not helping with the confidence. I wasn't expecting this at all, I swear. I felt as if I went back in the past when I was a noob two years ago that truly didn't know what to do and people would trash talk to me even in casuals. My confidence really went down yesterday. Now, I have a couple of questions: is it because of the recent hard reset and I'm finding people that don't actually belong in bronze rank? Is the fact that I'm playing on the european server a factor, 'cause there are less people playing? What should I do to become better? Go back to casuals? This doesn't seem right to me because I've been playing casual this whole time and it felt like good training but seeing how differently people play in ranked, it doesn't feel like it anymore. It feels like playground where I can't learn anything more than I already know. Should I keep playing ranked to train, mute everyone and yolo? Or should I switch to the North American server and hope that I'll find more people of the same skill level of mine, since there's a larger player base? Thanks to whomever will answer to this little rant of mine, if someone is even going to lol I was really in a crysis yesterday and I could use some support.
As someone who also is dipping toes in ranked after years of casuals, I'd say mute and yolo. But also double check build order and stuff like that. I switched around some items in a baron build and suddenly I'm wearing juke shoes 24/7! Lol. But yeah, don't stop after one bad day!
It's because casuals are practice. You need better picks. Arachne isn't really good. You haven't been playing for that long. I have every god mastered with 60 diamond Gods and I'm lvl 160. Lvl 159-160 takes longer than 1-100 and I still struggle at times. Id suggest playing duel. I can win 1vs1s 99% of the time. When you learn duel, you learn how to use every second effeciently and if you aren't using aa cancels and relics/counter building you will lose. Once you can 1vs1, try ranked joust to learn to team fight. Then you'll be ready for conquest.
@@Pax_Mayn3 Thank you for the advice but does it really take that much effort to just enjoy a few ranked games in bronze? Like, I don't expect to get to gold or even silver and be good, I just wanted to enjoy a few ranked games in bronze. But I guess I really need to wait a few other years at this point, if I need to get accostumed to better gods, diamond 60 of them, try duel, then joust and then ranked joust? 😅
@@huffman_voice I usually go with premade builds from spl and/or from pros in general (after making sure they're meta and not some random cheese for fun). I know how to build and counterbuild on my own anyway, but I still prefer to stick to premade builds for better stats. Really, I think knowledge is the last of my problems: mechanical skills are and, as I said before, casual games are not that good of a training ground as I thought they were, since I'm more than good there. Based on the two responses I received, I think I'll try new modes and alternate between that and a few ranked. Thank you guys.

And do you play solo q ? Or duo q ? If you duo queue then it's a piece of cake you just jg mid or adc sup and win the game even if your team is absolute trash and you are capable of hardcarrying
Some suggestions:
Jg : erlang , gilga , kali , ( merc ? If you can get away till like minute 10 or 11 , finishing rage and db )
Solo : pressure kings like : osiris , artio , cabroken , clio is very good in solo rn
Mid : thoth , agni , sol , tiamat if you can play her , the morrigan can hard carry the game no matter
Support : it depends , but i wouldn't suggest the extremely defensive supports like khepri & geb because people in lower ranks are bad , try bacchus, athena , atlas etc they have good dmg + very good setup , always have wards and good map awareness
Adc : honestly adc is my least favourite role but whenever i get stuck in the role i play hachi , medusa , danza , they have good burst dmg , good clear , good 1v1 / 1v2 , and in the worst case you can just stay even with enemy adc , hachi can prevent them from freezing the wave by hitting his 1
