My grandpa said that the biggest mistake in Croatian history was when we left Austria (Austria-Hungary). The tune today is used for the "Deustchlandlied" - the current national anthem of Germany as well as numerous college and university alma materae.
One could only imagine what this anthem and Heil dir im Ziegerkranz would sound lile with Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras, Andrea Boceli, and Placido Domingp singing as a barbershop quartet with the late Pavarotti as the lead.

This song known as the emperors hymn was played in protest to Napoleon days after the fall of Vienna heyden died just after he finished playing the piece he gave his last bow then collapsed and died shortly after. It is mostly in standard German, some pronouncations sound slightly Austrian to me, but it is barely noticeable.

This song was written by Heyden a man who invented the symphony. This song known as the emperors hymn was played in protest to Napoleon days after the fall of Vienna heyden died just after he finished playing the piece he gave his last bow then collapsed and died shortly after. This anthem even after the collapse of the Austrian empire should be remembered forever.
