To better understand the Baltic Sea environment and our relationship with it, HELCOM prepares holistic assessments of the state of the Baltic Sea, or HOLAS for short. Each holistic assessment captures a comprehensive snapshot at a given moment in the dynamic life history of the Baltic Sea.
