The quintessential NES music. 1991, I'm 7 years old, Friday night, mom just ordered a pizza, and me and brother are in the basement playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II on our NES. Life was good.
When i read your comment I thought of what gave me the most trouble , Either paper tigers in samurai stage or the freeze guns in the floor in the Technodrome.
Will guess what? Konami have bring back all the tmnt games, from nes games, arcade games, game boy games, snes games and Sega genesis games. It called "TMNT THE COWABUNGA COLLECTION".
this comment made me a little emotional out of nowhere. it's crazy how our memories work like that. I watched a commercial for "skip it" the other day and broke down. I know I shouldn't think about getting older but these days it's always on my mind.
Ultra Games was a spinoff of Konami, back then a legendary game developer. Ultra Games was founded to bypass Nintendo's limits on the number of games published in a year.

this left quite an imprint. every time im playing a game that has a area where you go through a apartment or hotel thats burning this immediately comes to mind
I was born in 1991. Played this with my friend a lot in the late 90´s. This music is awesome and still on my mind and reminding me from those good days.
dude, my older 2nd cousins used to have this game and whenever we'd go to their house for their 4th of July picnic/pool party we'd go down in the cellar and play this. So many memories. I now have this game on a special console that can play NES and SNES games much better than on the original console. I can get to level 2 like, 40% of the time but not too far.
@pursegrabbinpukes Well said. And I remember when me and my twin brother played this game when we were 8 years old. We played this like 8 hours per day, until the skin came off from our thumbs :P TMNT 2 for the NES is a classic.
To think I hum this part 0:14 all the time for my entire life and I'm only re visiting it for the first time now. So your telling me I've remembered this song for 32 years and never new which turtle game it came from??? Cant even say I remember it like it was yesterday. No I had to have played it in a NES emulator at some point.... theres no way I didnt pay this game again as a teenager mutated ninja turtle
This was one of the very first video games that I beat as a kid. I had Game Genie to assist me, but nonetheless, I had a blast with this one. I'm so glad my dad still has his NES.

I used to play this game with one of my sisters or my little brother.. None of my friends had NES because.. who knows why :P I still played otudoors with them though, only during rain and storms I would stay indoors and play games with my siblings.
b a b a up down b a left right b a (select) start. My brother would get pissed because I learned to without stopping do that code and grab donatello before he had the chance.
@StarrFOX64 that's wrong man, it's B, A, B, A, Up, Down, B, A, Left, Right, B, A, Start. I still know it, had to use it all the time and it was still difficult.
The first few seconds of the theme music in stage 1 sounds just like the first stage of Top Gun: The 2nd Mission, which is btw also a Konami game released in 1990 also i think. They mustve used the same composers for that game. Bravo!!!
@Denthedragon that's the code where you can start at any level and get 10 guys. I always started on lvl 1 so I can beat the game. One of the levels, I can't remember who the boss was, I couldn't beat starting with only three guys. I needed one more guy to beat.
My skin went goose bumbs in an instant when listening to this... I remember my older brother and I going fucking insane when he got this on this one christmas and played this all christmas :P
You and your brothers jump into the burning building. You land hard and remain motionless, assessing the situation. The flames are everywhere. A scream can be heard in the distance. It's April. You look at your brothers and nod in agreement. Its turtle time.
Man! If Konami had just ported the arcade game to 16-bit for the SNES's launch I totally would have bought it, and probably passed on the NES version. This game was alright but the wait would have been worth it.
It was also featured on the Pong Consoles segement where he played Ricochet and was unable to play the TV 4 Four-Way Video Game because the box was permanently hardwired to the console and one of the metal prongs got chewed off
@@pirajacinto4 But you need to do that in the title screen, if the demo appears, dosent work, I recomend to be fast and also press select before the cheat for extra time.

Wish my mom was like yours.
Those where the days
💯💯💯
What a vibe. Wish I could've lived it
14 july 1984, and you bro?
this song is just like pizza. it's great no matter how you slice it
Donatello: that doesn't make any sense and yet I agree with you.
Haha
Yes ! 😂
this song is freaking awesome
When I close my eyes while listening to this, I remember the giant bowling balls.
I just did that lol. I was so smiling.
When i read your comment I thought of what gave me the most trouble , Either paper tigers in samurai stage or the freeze guns in the floor in the Technodrome.
How about the robots?
Definitely reminded me of the Foot-soldiers that would hump out of the walls
I mean in a burning building, the first thing I do is chuck bowling balls down stairs.....
I havent heard this song in yearssss and all of the sudden I remembered it quickly. The joy and emotions came out of me.

One of the best 8 bit pieces ever composed.
If not the best.
The whole game ost

Heard the arcade version of this recently and I'm very impressed with how much they were able to replicate in an 8bit chiptune.

Just bought it this week on Steam.
I remember when I was little and me and my brother go to a room full of video game machines and this was one of my favorite of all🥺🥹
this left quite an imprint. every time im playing a game that has a area where you go through a apartment or hotel thats burning this immediately comes to mind
This game is one of my first memories ever - I had so much fun playing this level with my brothers and my mom

I was born in 1991. Played this with my friend a lot in the late 90´s. This music is awesome and still on my mind and reminding me from those good days.

This was one of the very first video games that I beat as a kid. I had Game Genie to assist me, but nonetheless, I had a blast with this one. I'm so glad my dad still has his NES.

You and your brothers jump into the burning building. You land hard and remain motionless, assessing the situation. The flames are everywhere. A scream can be heard in the distance. It's April. You look at your brothers and nod in agreement. Its turtle time.
@SolidMike84 still got mine :-D controls are a bit iffy but otherwise it's still running and it's still fun as hell!
My area now has a Pizza Hut
This + some Pizza Hut can make your night feel special
Let's have a beach party!
