"As a business owner and mortgage holder, I hope to see a few rate hikes from the RBA" What are you talking about? What sort of person in business wants rate hikes? Or Mortgage hikes? R u kidding me!!!!? Clearly you are not on the same business planet as 99% of the rest of us. "Prepare for rate hikes" - What absolute bollocks. Australia is already effectively in recession - particularly Victoria. GDP growth is miniscule - and that's even total. Per capita it's already falling drastically. The RBA governor needs to get out of the professorial chair and go talk to business leaders down South. If the RBA hikes it will send all governments in the country broke. Particularly Victoria. How will they fund their debt? Victoria is a huge part of the normal Australian economy and is a real worry and continues to drag down the entire country. Interest rates are coming down and coming down fast. Just MO

Sorry that was a typo - it was fixed on the article but hadn't picked up on YT blurb. I'd love to see some cuts but the point is they keep getting pushed out and the RBA said as recently as last week that if services inflation remains sticky they'll consider hiking further. www.livewiremarkets.com/wires/don-t-hope-for-cuts-prepare-for-hikes

@@Livewiremarkets Sure cuts may well be being pushed out, the point is the RBA is making a mistake -allowing Victoria to sleep walk the whole country into recession. Recent rate rise talk is just RBA jaw boneing. If they follow up with actual hikes - business is screwed. And so is the Qld and Federal election. Then Vic. Bank stocks will wobble then so will by default union based super.

@@wapphigh5250 That may be the case - the point I was trying to make was that putting all your eggs in one basket and hoping the RBA will cut is not a great strategy. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Pretty boring interview, some debate or alternate perspectives would have been nice.
