I'm a new learner trying to self learn sitar from an old one my aunt used to play... When I got the sitar, all the strings had been removed and all the sitar string sets available don't mention which string is which... Do you have any pointers on how to identify the strings based on thickness? Thank you

I still cannot find the precise distances between the bridges (bada ghoraj and chota ghoraj) and the nut (meru) of the sitar. It is a mathematical instrument, and this information is not readily available... my search continues. Shukria, namaste.
