I really feel a person should have a walking-talking relationship with God before going to seminary. Too many ministers seem to know theology but they don't know the heart of God. They know what the bible says about the heart of God but they don't have a personal relationship with the Father.

@@StandinthylotI posted this evidence ...I believe in the gift of healing even today, however, I don't believe people have that gift "on demand." The only one who could heal on demand was Jesus. An example of this in scripture is Paul. Paul healed people in Acts 19:11-12, but he couldn't heal Epaphroditus in Philipians 2:25-27 or Timothy as shown in 1 Timothy 5:23 (see scriptures below).
Acts 19:11-12 (NIV) says "God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them..."
Philippians 2:25-27 (NIV) "But I think it is necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, co-worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger, whom you sent to take care of my needs. For he longs for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill. Indeed he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow."
Paul tells Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:23 (NIV) "Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses."......why didn't Paul just send him a handkerchief for healing? 🤔

@@Standinthylot Is comprehension really dead...this has nothing to do with the Trinity, the question posed here was about people having that power.
As for Jesus, the whole point of the Trinity is that they are One. In that same verse u quoted it says "For whatever the Father does, the son does also." Because you misunderstand that verse, it's not telling that the Son is powerless but that you cannot separate the Father and the Son. Otherwise how can He state that He can do what the Father does but the Father can heal on command but not Jesus, He would be lying then.
However that was far from Corey's point, his question was posed to us, read and comprehend. I used Jesus as an example, He snapped His fingers and things happened instantly, no ifs or buts. Stick to that issue, *if I'm wrong, who else has shown that kind of power?*

    I start with define healing.
Healing on earth instantly? Or through death, ending their earthly suffering?
God alone has the ability to approve or deny healing of the physical body. Often times God is causing to work our faith, perseverance, and long-suffering muscles to grow in perfection over just giving us as we ask. In the end He is in control over our desires and expectations.
In a short answer, no. God is the ultimate authority when it comes to healing.

Mr Corey(love you. I listen to you atleast once a day to keep the devil away😉), all I am saying is this; the people who believe in God's willingness to heal get more manifestations than those that leave it to "chance" i.e God being in the mood that day. Even when Winger did that video on Benny(and I think it was necessary), there were people in the comments who said they were healed at his conferences despite their current thinking that he is crooked. The same can hardly be said about the likes of Mike, who are more solid teachers in my opinion. So, I think you people miss it somewhere. You err on the side of extreme caution.

Like a spiritual goes into a trance so do some of these prophetess transition from speaking in normal tone and cadence to a trance like way of speaking. I personally knew of Kady who died of breast cancer and was still sayng in her last moments, "I am healed" she thought she woukd be physically healed. At her death the pastor said. The result of her dying was because although she professed healing, she didn't really believe it or she wouldn't have died. That's the pain a hyper charismatic pastor left the family. It was her fault...

I don't usually type in comments, but I would like some help with this.....
    ‭Matthew 8:14-17 ESV‬
[14] And when Jesus entered Peter’s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. [15] He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. [16] That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. [17] This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
Matthew is quoting from the same passage is Isaiah 53, he is applying the "healing" there in Isaiah as physical healing in this text.....
It seems at least in the mind of Mathew, the fulfilment of Isaiah 53 also applies to physical healing......

YES, miraculous HEALING still takes place today! However, there is no evidence that anyone has the Apostolic gift to "lay hands" on someone to heal them at will! This would be the Cessasionists position, (who are wrongly accused of not believing in the continuation of miracles).

By arguing that there is no evidence tht someone can heal today, you are by default taking the cessationist position. No one is wrongly accusing you of anything. Your own words betray where you stand. The apostles' ability to heal came from God, not the apostles. That God is very much alive today, just as He was in the 1st century. And contrary to what cessationists believe, it is _God_ who does the work of healing, not the human instrument.

You are on the right path. Its not that there arent miracles in the scripture, but its clearly written to have more than one point. The wicked will not understand. Your use of Isa 53 is great to show that not every time someone is healed its physical. And in Most cases its spiritual. This was part of the prophecy of Messiah. Isa 6:8-10. Mat 13:10-15. There is a reason why ezekiel said the people were complaining about him speaking in parables in Eze 20:49. It wasnt so much their understanding but the faith that he spoke the truth. Even the disciples had to ask Jesus to clarify when they were alone with him. Which is also symbolic for us praying to him for underatanding while we are in the secret place. Remember the blind man. What did Jesus aay to him after he was cast out. John 9:35-31. The question is if he came to make those who claim to see blind, then were all the Pharisees who rejected him, all of a sudden physically blind? Think about it. There is a polarity here. Two sides of the same coin type of language. If the Pharisees were made blind just like the prophecy said, and that was the opposite effect that happened to them for their unbelief. If they werent made physically blind, but spiritually blind, then why cant the opposite happen and someone can be born spiritually blind from birth, and then believe and be spiritually healed? This is more important to answer tha you may think. If its about physicall healing then everyone is going to hell end of story because no one is doing these miracles today. But if the interpretation is wrong and its specifically talking about spiritual healing then this could be happenin all over the world today. But if its spiritual and people dont believe and cling to it being physical then the opposite is true and they are unbelievers toward it, being about spiritual healing. In the end there is an entire book called the bible that really describes this as spiritual healing of the eyes of understanding. Eph 1:18. This is why after the blind man was healed he was rebuked of the Pharisees and they told the blind man not to lecture them. John 9:34. In verse 32 it talks about no ones eyes being born blind were open since the world began. This is important. Because its talking about the mystery kept hidden from the foundation of the world. Rom 16:25-26. Remember the religious authority deliberately were not telling these things to people. It was Kept secret not of God, but of Gods rebellious children. Luke 11:52.

      Hint: Paragraphs

    • @PistisAdelphos
      @PistisAdelphos หลายเดือนก่อน

@ricksonora6656 passages are important. For example. If you really understand his words everything Jesus says is 90% alluding to old testament but spoken through the language of wisdom which is the prophetic language. For example. Paragraphs. Matthew 23:37. There is a reason why he says o Jerusalem Jerusalem. And why he ends the saying with and ye would not. He's alluding to an old testament passage that we today have divided into different chapters. Originally the Isaia scroll was just one big block of text. And in this one proverbial saying he captures the entirety of Isah 29:1-24 and isah 30:1-15 together in one saying. Woe to Ariel to Ariel, and ye would not. This is whybthe KJV is the best translation. Other translations are still accurate to this text, but the king James translated it word for word. Either they knew something or the spirit was doing a work. Because if you understand everything I already talked about in my original post this only confirms it more. It's about understanding, and How the LORD closed the eyes of the leaders because they didn't Obey his voice. He made it impossible to understand until they come to faith in Christ and believe his words and receive his teaching. This is why in the same passage of Matthew 23 he explains yet again the cause of this and it was clearly because the prophets which are the true servants of God came with a God's teaching and we're rejected and killed, fulfilling end times prophecy of Moses Deuteronomy 32. So that the blood of all the slain for the word of God will come down upon the wicked. This is why Jesus said from abel to Zechariah, and added all of the ones he himself will send after his crucifixion and resurrection. These are the 2 generations. Jesus is the dividing of the 2 generations. Time times Half of time. And the vision of all.

We believe that some people will spend an eternity in Hell due to their unwillingness to believe the gospel. But healing today, no we don't know about that. We don't see that happening. We need to be careful about that? Don't dare suggest that out lack of faith could be the issue ever? You anti charismatic guys are really starting to irk me. Just masters at strawman arguments. The Bible clearly states that some people will be given the gift of healing. Are there some people who might try to take credit for it. I'm sure there is. But I doubt most would claim that. Obviously the gift of healing comes from the Holy Spirit. Also the context in the gospels are clear that Jesus did not heal at times because of a lack of faith. Of course he can heal despite a lack of faith. But its clear that Jesus wants us to believe and trust that He will heal us. It's not so much about His Glory. He doesn't need to heal to be glorious. But when he does heal it allows us to see his glory and increases our faith which is always the goal. Jesus talked over and over about faith and its necessity as does the rest of the Bible. We need more nuanced discussion on these issues. A lot of your guys are doing more harm than good.

One-off miracles (of any kind) are very different from the gifts. Pentecostals always strawman this.
A healing is given to someone who has a medical condition. The gift of healing is given to a minister of the gospel, allowing him an ability to repeatedly heal others.
Pentecostals say, if you don’t believe the gift of healing is for today, you don’t believe in healing. They’ll go even further and say you don’t believe God can heal.

Hence, in summary: pray and they will be healed and if they have sins they will be forgiven.
Sin brings about the destruction of the body. We bare our sins in our flesh. Which is why the debt of man’s sin was paid by Jesus Christ. The reason why his death was unwarranted was because he was without sin. Meaning death had no claim on him. This is why he was able to conquer death and man of his own strength cannot.
To put it in context: say someone drinks alcohol, this is a sinful act, brought up by temptation to drink that gives way to sin. The action matures and turns into sclerosis which brings about death.
The approach I’m hearing here, and correct me if I’m wrong is strictly a theological approach based solely on human understanding.
