A long time ago I rode dirt bikes and go carts ALOT, raced the go carts that are about an inch off the ground, top speeds about 100mph. I mention this because during this time I also learned how to work on small engines and whatnot. Here's what I personally would have done, given that the bike sit so long the very first thing I would do is take the carb off and apart and clean it very well. All the tubes, holes, ect, make sure everything is super clean. This alone would have been enough to get it to run, given the spark is there. To see if an engine will run, even with a carb full of gunk, spray a small amount of gas directly in the carb, if no carb is on, then spray a tiny amount of gas directly into the cylinder. Upon cranking the engine it should briefly start running then it will spudder out due to lack of fuel. This is just a little trick I have used countless times to see if an engine will run. I have actually seen shade tree mechanics pour gas directly into the intake without any carb or fuel injectors connected. They only did this to see if the engine would run, to make sure the engine wasn't seized up. It's alittle dangerous but have never seen anyone get hurt doing this because they were extremely careful. But the potential for injury is certainly there.

I appreciate the advice, the spark was definitely not there before I replaced the magneto though so unfortunately that trick wouldn't have worked on this one. That is good to know though, luckily my YD100 fired right up after 3 years

This bike is quite unsafe without a lot of TLC, I got it running with one part but 1. Sounds like metal is contacting in the motor 2. Sprocket is very misaligned on wheel and 3. The derailers (shifters) were so beaten that they couldn't be used. After I open the motor, clean it up, and put it on another bike I will have a good deal but for the inexperienced I wouldn't recommend getting a bike that isn't from a reputable builder

My first motorbike was a blast, got into 2cycle motors for 7 ys, I've switched too a 4 stroke, stock Phatmoto All Terrain, motor bike,
Wish I'd got into them sooner!, there coming down on there price's, you can even just get frame, which to me is a beefed up frame, dam near no vibration feels like being on a ATV on 2 wheels to be honest I have 40 t rear sprocket I've hit 50 after break in, but 40 is best speed for long runs, stay safe

Those fancy frames look cool but I'm a little top cheap to invest in something like that for this hobby, plus I like finding interesting bicycles (not that those arent, just ones that not many people see lately)
As far as speed, thats exactly the range I'm shooting to be capable of. I wouldn't want to cruise at 50 but having the capability to do so would be nice for roads with higher speed limits & have the power to cruise at 30-40. Not a fan of being too in the way of traffic

Moterbike Mike here, It sounds like your drive sprocket isn't centered on the back rim

I'm scrapping the bike & wheel to build my Schwinn cruiser with that motor for my buddy, gonna make sure everythings set up right for him but the chain staying on the sprocket was enough for me to verify this engine runs first😅
The person who built this bike did not do a very good job, I'm suprised they rode it at all. I changed a lot of other stuff to make it semi ride-able like putting the clutch on the correct side and not having one of the brake levers facing towards the rider next to the throttle, should've mentioned that too at the beginning.

Originally I bought this thinking I'd flip it for a decent profit but I wouldn't wanna sell this bike to someone, the motor would be so much better on any other frame
