I don't even like this genre of music but this song is so catchy it disturbs me. Like it was made in a lab to prey on the vibrations of my brain cells.

The most amazing thing is this is an entirely VIRTUAL K-Pop group, made of four League of Legends champions, voiced by real singers, made for the World Championship and to sell new skins for the characters, and ended up with an album, several videos, and a gold record.

The production value on this is through the roof. As good or better than some of the biggest names in music. The drums are ridiculously busy down there with multiple beats going on both filling out and backing each other. The singers frequently pop in an octave higher for the last work of a phrase to give a nice doubling of the sound for the main singer. The lyrics are all about how you'll never be as good as them, never get where they are. The camera, the entire time, every single shot, has them center frame, the focus, and moves away from them. Never getting to them. Reinforcing the lyrics visually.

Didnt realize you had another channel.
Riot Games/League of Legends has absolutely killer music.
They have KDA which is a Kpop group, they have True Damage which is hip hop/pop, and they have Pentakill which is a metal band, kinda like Dragonforce.
They haso have a number of songs that arent based in any of their groups like "Pheonix," "Awaken," and "Burn it all down"

The name, K/DA is a reference to "kills, deaths, and assists" which is a common piece of statistics for video games.

This might not be the place for it but this first K/DA song, in my mind, is the essential K/DA song. *THE* K/DA song. It has spunk. Gorgeous harmonics. An absolutely catchy tune with the attitude you’d expect from an underground artist trying to carve a path to success for themselves.
    Wonderful analysis as well :D

I can't recommend checking out (G)I-dle's music enough, as well. The one rapping in this is their leader, Soyeon, and most of (G)I-dle (pronounced Idol or Idle)'s tracks are written and produced by her. If you're interested, La Ta Ta is the group's debut song. Lion is an amazing showcase of all the good stuff, and Tomboy is their most recent comeback.

    Suggestions:
    Video Games:
    -----------
*To zanarkand* by Nobuo Uematsu (source: Final Fantasy X) - beautiful piano piece
*Simple and Clean* by Hikaru Utada (source: Kingdom Hearts) - j-pop (Japanese pop) note: there are both Japanese and English versions as well as an orchestral arrangement called "Hikari (simple and clean)"
*Icarus* by Michael McCann (source: Deus Ex: Human Revolution by Canadian studio) - building of synths, percussion, & vocals as song progresses
*Morrowind* theme, *Oblivion* theme, *Skyrim* theme by Jeremy Soule (source: Elder Scrolls series) - though these are 3 separate games in a series I would recommend listening to all 3 themes in one video, as they could be seen as 3 separate movements of one piece of music
    Anime:
    -----------
*Making cyborg* by Kenji Kawai (source: ghost in the shell) - iconic opening theme song, minimalistic percussion with haunting vocals
*Rise* by Origa (source: ghost in the shell)
*Tank!* by Yoko Kanno (prfm by: seatbelts) (source: cowboy bebop) - iconic opening theme song, jazz piece
*Space lion* by Yoko Kanno (prfm by: seatbelts)(source: cowboy bebop) - sax piece
*The Real Folk Blues* by Yoko Kanno (prfm by: seatbelts) (source: cowboy bebop)
*Gurenge* by LiSA (source: Demon Slayer) - recent iconic opening theme song, rock/j-pop genre
*God knows...* sung by Aya Hirano (source: The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya) - iconic anime song, rock
*Guren No Yumiya* by Linked Horizon (source: Attack on Titan) - iconic opening theme song, considered definitive epic into
*A Cruel Angel’s Thesis* by Yoko Takahashi (source: Neon Genesis Evangelion) - iconic opening theme, usually among the top of iconic anime song lists, if not THE top, but I've always been "meh" about it

League of Legends is interesting because they take characters from the game and make music groups out of them. KDA is their K-Pop band. League puts out a lot of music that is worth checking out. A lot of their music is not in the game at all, but is more of an advertisement or just supplemental material for the game's world. They have put out a whole EDM album.
Another of their groups is their metal band "Pentakill" that has multiple albums. I recommend checking out Lightbringer or Deathfire Grasp from their first album first.

Hello! A while back I was listening to a song which immediately reminded me of your reactions! The song seems to have used some classical pieces so I really wanna know what you think of it. It's called 'Feel My Rhythm' by Red Velvet. I saw another youtube channel with classical musicians react to it and I learnt that they sampled one of Bach's piece. The music video is also filled with many different references to historic artworks. Looking forward to your reaction to it!

the joke is riot (the makers of league of legends) is a music company that made a video game to promote their music. funny thing is when you listen to their music you go "yep thats right". if you go down the rabbit hole of league music it is fun and long. oh last thing they dont have one sound. they have 3 virtual groups, one rock/metal, one kpop (here kda) and one hip hop and thats not all they colab with artist from all over the world so yea have fun.

  • @Guthwulf11
    @Guthwulf11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Great reaction. New subscriber here :D If you like the creativity in this, than you like K-Pop (Korean Pop, which is all the craze these days). ;) You may be familiar with names like Blackpink (my personal favorite) or BTS? Be warned: It is an addicting endless rabbit hole, if you decide to go down that road with lots of crazy discoveries regarding composing music. Popstars and its MV is composed, produced and structured like a K-Pop Title Track and KDA is supposed to be a "virtual K-Pop group" (having four of the characters from the game as "group members"). Two of the vocalists voicing these characters here (including the rapper) are from the famous K-Pop Group "(G)I-DLE". Jaira Burns and Madison Beer are American singers. Riot Games, the developer for the game, is from the US but the game is also huge in Asia. This track was produced for the League Of Legends World Championship 2019 (?) which took place in Seoul. There is a nice live performance for this one from the opening of that event and a behind the scenes video. If you want to better understand what K-Pop is and how this industry works, I would recommend to give the Netflix documentation "Light Up The Sky" a go. It's about Blackpink, but it also is a great introduction into K-Pop and you get some insight in how these songs come to be (including hearing the thoughts of the producer and getting a glimpse into the work in the studio).

That first pause being right between Ahri's thighs. Unironically fitting for how sexualized some champions are. The accidentality of the pause just completely had me. The way your eyes go back and double check like "wait" and everything. What a funny timing man. Alright, enough of my dumbass.

If YT algorythm have brought me here for K/DA that means you will soon discover Blackpink. Both groups have songs with incredible sound production, especially in lower register.
K/DA is a virtual groups created to promote the game whereas Blackpink is very real and quite a big deal in recent days. 4 ladies just performed on VMA their new song "Pink Venom" and won 2 awards (member Lisa won Best K-Pop for her solo “LALISA” and as a group for Best Metaverse Performance for their PUBG collaboration “Ready For Love").
"Pink Venom" is still trending so I strongly recommend to watch music video for this song.
