I think the best thing about this piece is it feels so LIVELY. Gave so much emotions as well as adrenaline which always made me want to beat those races no matter how hard they were and how many times I had to retry. Older game and music had a certain feel to them, I can't find but rarely in games nowadays. Most older stuff in general, honestly or may be its just nostalgia perhaps..I'll never know. :D

Ahhh how i miss the old assassin's Creed the REAL assassin's Creed were stealth matterd the story matterd one of the best story's ever made Ezio trilogy will always be one of my favorite games i've ever played in my life such a beautiful game one of the best story's i've ever experienced in my Life Ezio Auditore is one of my favorite characters in gaming history i miss the good old days of assassin's Creed hopefully we get a remake for this amazing Trilogy
I recently got into the whole Assassin's Creed thing, so far played though 1 and part way through 2 and I gotta say, even though I wasn't as able to take Ezio's character as seriously as an assassin as I was Altair, Ezio and his story is still alot of fun so far and the gameplay is awesome. I just wish there was a bit more "epic" music like this to help flush out the scale, dramatic elements, and grandeur of the game. Assassin's Creed 1 especially seemed just too quite sometimes.
Its probably because in AC1, you haven't really seen Altair as a premature assassin, besides the first few quests you're sent on. Ezio doesn't take on the assassin thing right away, like the legacy of assassins, but he is damn good at parkour, which is a good start for a new assassin.
GameGenes Since posting that comment I've completed AC2 and my opinion hasn't really changed about the two assassins. Even later in the game Ezio's charismatic personality, not to mention his amusing proclivity and seeming weakness for the ladies, seems a bit at odds with a dark quest for revenge that usually involves driving a shiv through someone's neck. Basically, to me: Altair: direct, disciplined, even a little cold/aloof (slightly sociopathic?), no b/s or fun and games he's in town to kill someone, badass killer/warrior, very inline with what I image an assassin would be. Ezio: charismatic, fun and even playful, adventitious maybe even a bit of a thrill-seeker, lady killer (figuratively speaking), but at the same time his job is to murder people for revenge. His personality, to me, is pretty at odds with his job. However, I have to say, AC2 is a better game overall, despite that lackluster "final boss" fight, if it can be called a fight, a seemingly slightly reduced emphasis on stealth and information gathering and that strange wtf ending that I guess I'll find out more about in the next game. Speaking of which, starting in on Brotherhood now. I guess I'll see where things go from here. Already lost all the money and badass armor and weapons it took me a whole game to earn ; ( Oh well, as they say, begin again...

Btw this track was first heard when ezio reces his brother in firenze in the opening sequence of the game right before the title shows up on screen whit the moon in the background...
They'd basically never catch me. I'd hide, then poke them in the back with a stick to substitute for a hidden blade. BOOM. But seriously, the adrenaline rush that comes with this music is incredible.

I have always found it a little strange that the best song in the game has been used as just a giveaway for a no brainer mini game.
It's also used when on the run from Venetian guards and you're on the rooftops. In fact, I believe the official name of the song is Venetian Rooftops.
im pretty sure this song also comes when you race with your brother at the start of the game.
This plays when you are climbing the church with Frederico in the beginning, as well :)

this is why i love the music in ac2 because they add a piece of ezio's family in the songs.
