I think it suits the character. She’s not supposed to have an Annie voice. Cosette is sensitive and frail.
I fall in love with this song 🎶 since my daughter sang it. It was in a performance for “Les Miserables”when she was in Middle School in Texas. ❤❤ So beautiful!😍

This is what the character is like. She's supposed to be mean towards Cosette. But she also has a comedic side to her as well.

I think I saw her. It’s sad the video isn’t better because she was so good.
i think it makes a bit of sense for eponine to snitch on cosette as well, she would’ve probably been raised to hate her and then after a few years she saw her as a friend considering how she saved cosette when her father was going to rob valjean’s house, but i still favor the version where eponine saw her as a friend earlier on.
