One of the most beautiful instrumental songs ever, from one of the most haunting stories ever. Enjoyed the manga, anime, OVA, all of it when I was 12 and still haven't tired 20 years later.
Miyu is one of the finest stories... few anime have been able to portray such sadness and loneliness, a sense of duty that leads to emptiness... Jigoku Shoujo and Blood+ owe a lot to Vampire Princess Miyu...
I was forgot about Hell Girl and Blood Plus I love those series anyway, I've never watched their whole episodes unfortunately and you should add Shiki also owes a lot to Vampire Princess Miyu too.
English translation: In her gaze, overflowing with sadness, the flow of time is reflected. Her intensely burning emotions grow distant if she pursues white memories. A shining premonition runs to the very ends of a dream that shines uncertainly Embracing eternal life Noone knows, noone can see the thread of destiny. She quietly embraces her tears in her heart, alone... Her eyes, that have closed up her heart, gaze down a frozen fingertip. Chasing after an ephemeral love that soon disappears, she wanders the world of time. Her smile, unknown to any, is mysterious She lives both the past and the future Embracing eternal life The day will surely come someday when you will see the thread of destiny. Now she quietly hides it in her heart, alone... In her gaze, overflowing with sadness, the flow of time is reflected. Embracing eternal life Her aimless journey continues, beyond a distant time... Thank you so much for posting the lyrics and translation to this song. I used to listen to it over and over in the mid 90s but could only recognize a few of the words. Because of the words I understood like kokoro and dakishimeru, I assumed this was a trite love song! Little did I know that it is a lament about living forever, alone, in the coldness of a future yet to be seen. At least our Miyu has Larva. Thank you to the translator of the lyrics, too.
Such a beautiful song. All the songs are amazing, the manga is beautiful, the storyline is incredible. The newer ones cannot and will never hold a candle.
I guess it's Kaoru Wada. I sadly can't read the Japanese Signs on my Original OVA OST CD. If so, I could tell you more exact. -------------------------- Hey, yeah -> it's Jill Valentine looking to you on my Icon! ;D
@ErikaGiry i wish i knew the answer, truthfully, i don't. have you figure it out yet? if so, i would want to know as well. i think that the actress for miyu in the ova series was the 1 who sung this song, but i could be wrong.

The OVA is my favorite. Vampire Princess Miyu definitely tells a vampire story like no other I have come across.
Indeed. It's pretty unique!
Vampire princess miyu is totally perfect, music, anime, characters, story. The soundtrack reminds me on 90s

A shining premonition runs

Noone knows, noone can see

In her gaze, overflowing with sadness,
the flow of time is reflected.
Embracing eternal life
Her aimless journey continues,
beyond a distant time...

I feel too old for this anime now, but back when I was young it was amazing.
Kenji Kawaii music rocks here. Nice memories.
It never gets old.
Haven’t heard this since high school. Think I was a junior. That was like 15 years ago... I feel old! One of the first anime I watched around then...
