I am glad that I live in a time where the biggest and most sophisticated ships being built are tributes to mankind's DECADENCE. 80 years ago, the largest ships that were being build were warships.
Hmm surprised tithe Carnival Mardi Gras wasn’t on this list it was postponed at 2020 and I think its first sail is this year unless it already happened
You didn't mention the Aidanova, brand new ship that was launched on 31 August 2018 and will set sail for the first time, with paying passangers, next month, November 2018.

foreman d, give it a go. The vast majority of people who do go on with less than positive views come off with their minds changed. Personally, I like the slightly smaller ships, as I am English and beyond the use of climbing walls our cruise tastes tend to be more destination based. If you like seeing different places dont keep changing the hotel, let the hotel take you there.
These Ships are wonderful and shows there are always people to fill them....Note I did the NCL Getaway in 2018 October it was full 6,000 crew & passengers and never waited for anything....but walking 20 minutes in the wrong direction was upsetting...wish they put a few random fish around all decks so you know aft from bow tho...otherwise a wonderful trip...Crown Princess is next come April 2019....getting out of the cold Michigan air to the Caribbean again...wonderful area.....There are innovations on every new ship.... for less young adults do not go on a water slide ship...but there really were not that many young people on the Getaway tho.....altho plenty to do.. Crown Princess has an adult only area too so they have everyone covered...those days of children being seen and not herd are over with...Young Adults will soon change the world....so try to go with the flow is what I do....theres ice cream around ? I am a happy camper then...lol...the excitement of a cruise is always be ready to make changes based of weather or even a problem with the ship...but wash your hands and enjoy the cruise,,,Cruise your way is my motto enjoy what you like cause it is all there somewhere. Your job is to find it...within the time limit of your cruise....
Why are they making them so big? I just went on mega ship with 4400 and was terrible. Never again. Lines, lines,lines and no deck chairs. Hated it, must be getting old I guess.

Funny Norwegian is naming a class Leonardo line! hopefully won't sink! I do wish Norwegian would set up port in Galveston though! tired of cruising Carnival all the time, but the flights to Miami are not cheap, esp with cruise fare tacked on. Would also like to see one of the Royal Oasis class ships moved there, instead of their older smaller ships. Galveston is a busy port! the money is there!
Hey limeyosu2000! Galveston has a couple if issues to deal with right now. One is the flooding problem, and the second is to handle upwards of 15,000 to 20,000 per week may require a lot mor investment in the port facilities. Port like Miami, Port Canaveral, Port Everglades and spending big bucks to expand their ports to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. With all these ships being built, there will some replacement of old ships but at the same time we will see some new ships with no passengers , sitting in the dock, the market cannot absorb them all......................

How do these ships do in bad weather
The ships can handle much more than the passengers can.
They look like floating apartments (most of them do) For example Titanic and those type of ships look better than the modern day ones.
