I always thought that John wasn't totally comfortable with the fame. He wanted it but it cost him. He also didn't have that stable an upbringing. He wasn't perfect, but man I sure do miss him.
It reflects his musical & lyrical talent : spontaneous, ironic, observant, quirky -a relentless imagination. The good, the bad,the ugly.A life that came & went quickly,he liberated a generation.Never, ever will be another like him!
Will there ever be another Paul McCartney? Arguably, Billy Joel, Sir EltonJohn,Jeff Lynne have rivalled Sir James Paul musically. But personality, leadership, intuition, influence, irreverence, the capacity to change, and,oh yes, (yeah!) his music - all of the aforementioned would defer to this incomparable young man Very imperfect, even repulsive at times, complex & contradictory -but that's the profile of an extraordinary individual. My parents, moreso my mother, couldn't stand him.But they were OK with the other 3, especially Ringo. Exactly!
He was actually,by many accounts an evil, narcistic and difficult man. But by far the funniest!😂and extremely talented! I honestly don't think any one will ever stop listening to and talking about the Beatles, and they most certainly will never forget about John Lennon!❤🇬🇧
I wouldn't go so far as "evil". John was _deeply_ troubled and did a lot of bad things in his life, but as he grew up, he acknowledged the damage he'd done and started to make amends. But his life was cut short so we'll never know if he'd have stayed the course or not. It's also worth remembering that, preachy and hypocritical though he could be, John's ideals were genuine and he could also be generous and kind. I think the pop-cultural view of his as some kind of raging narcissistic monster is a sad simplification of the complicated person he really was.
"You gotta lucky face, the end".
Lol

@sableonblonde1973 We put our heroes up on a pedestal. Then we proceed to shoot them down.
So true. Making faces, acting the fool...definitely not the behavior of a man comfortable with the shrieking thousands.
I've always had the feeling that some of John's onstage antics are him trying to handle the mass hysteria that was Beatlemania.
Absolutely
Nice to see footage of the Beatles having fun and getting along, before things turned sour.
It sure is!
When he started playing help 😂😂😂
He’s fiddling with the mic in almost every clip 😂

Larry-No one can exactly replicate him or replace him. ITS IMPOSSIBLE

If you’re talking about the self obsessed TikTok freaks. I understand 100%
Yoko Ono has more talent and creativity in one fingernail than any TikTok influencer/dancer. She’s so underrated.
@@Antifearn Yoko ono isn’t creative. I hate the stuff she does. But I’d rather hear that crap then the brainrot of TikTok
