Used to be a driver myself out west, but now I work for the State of Georgia. Decided to watch your video for a truckers POV on ATL traffic, and you just happened to catch me in the act. 11:45 that's me helping out that heavy haul in the yellow truck😂
I moved to Houston recently, and i quickly realized speed limits, stop lights/signs are just suggestions. It's a free for all, i see people going 50 mph + in a neighborhood with kids often. 90 mph on the highway is normal apparently🤷🏾♂🤷🏾♂ Absolutely nuts.
You have really brightened my day! I don't like the big cities or theme parks or roller coasters. Now if you are talking road trips, camping, fishing, cooking over an open fire, sitting around a campfire, going for hikes, listening to the owls & wildlife at night, then you are talking my kind of heaven! LOL! I love listening to you talk, but talking about the guy in the slow moving car "with a pot roast & big jug of sweet tea," had me in stitches!!! I hope you will keep having safe trips but full of the good kinds of adventure.
@@tmo.48 Nice to know there are people out there that enjoy the REAL life! So extremely rare anymore. Since my hub passed away, my cancer, & other health issues, I can't do all the things or go all the places I used to do. So when you see something really awesome, or catch a huge fish, or see a shooting star, please enjoy it all for me.
I've only driven through cities as a tourist and not as a trucker, I rate Atlanta, DC, and Houston (probably in that order) as my least favorite cities to drive through, even on interstate. I've been through Dallas a few times, but back in the 90's, and never had a problem there. Cleveland Sucks too. LOL
Used to have a day route in “Allana” boy I could only do it for a year keeps you on your toes for sure makes you question humanity some days but worth the experience safe travels and hammer down driver
From the very start of the video to about 13:45 is my commute through Atlanta to get to my office. Luckily I work from home most of the time, so I only do it once or twice a week. And that section you drove on 285 is actually a little better cause it's all been repaved now. They started stripping/grinding up the road shortly after this video was posted. Just my opinion, but you had it easy getting through that area. It can be so much worse. I try to leave my house very early in the morning so I can avoid the worst of the traffic. But I think I can honestly say that dealing with ATL traffic has hardened me. Dealing with this level of traffic all the time makes traveling to other places so much more enjoyable.
As an Atlanta dweller and soon to be CDL holder, we collectively suck at driving. Also our roads are shit lol. Also you're pickup was like 5 mins from me, nice!
love your channel.be careful out there just 3 days ago a trucker left loves on Tennessee border by kentucky and was shot to death wkrn news has a video about it
i hate it when i have a in lilburn and i gotta drive from 75 south to 285 greensville and once i hit285 the morning traffic in 8 in the morning is horrible
Lol I used to ride one of those wooden rollercoasters at six flags back to back near closing. Thing was so janky my knees would be black and blue and my teeth damn near vibrated out of my head but I loved every second of it.
Also, I think city driving would be easiest for me, oddly enough. Highways intimidate me too much. Guess local'd be the life for me as much as I want to travel.
😂 I live there for 36 years and drove trucks it used to be a time when you could leave without traffic but that’s was the late 80’s . I have since moved away and no traffic and less stress 😂.I appreciate your video stay safe and be blessed.
Welcome back to the ATL, Dave! hope you enjoyed our shitshow 😂 Also Dallas is on the top of my list too in terms of cities I really dislike driving through. I agree with you that the driving there is worse than Atlanta.
I drive through Dallas 5 days a week to get to my CDL school lol. If I can get used to apparently the worst city to drive through then I guess I'll be alright elsewhere
So way back in 2010. I have been off the road for awhile! Got back into trucking I have a load of humvees going to Albany ! I forgot all trucks must take bypass I took75 right through town. Thank god for military loads!!
Dallas is really rough. But most of the time if I hit my blinker they'd back off. Louisiana You could hit someone and they still won't let you over they'll push you back.
You’re like my brother who sees “I’m afraid of Roller Coasters because they’re too high” and I tell him “You get in a Plane ✈️ they’re maybe 20,000 feet in the Sky.. Roller Coaster maybe 200 or 400 feet at most”😂 then he sees “they’re too fast..”🤦🏻♂️ I tell him “Roller Coaster 200 miles maybe.. airplanes 600 MPH” 😂
I drive through Atlanta daily pulling for Walmart. And man it’s draining honestly it’s really not a good time to go through unless it’s 1am to 5am after that good luck. Especially on the city streets 🤦🏾♂️ 285 is horrible I be so happy to get on 85 headed back towards Montgomery AL 😂
Hey Dave been following you for the past couple years. Mississippi sure does have some comical characters I do know a handful of ya'll personally. I am from the bayous in La. so maybe not much different but I am currently living in ATL. since Katrina, never a dull moment living and driving here and actually you were so close to my place of employment like another 100 ft at the next left on Hartman Ind. Rd. Shoot if I had known you were in the neighbor hood I would have bought you lunch and BS a bit. Anyways Keep up da videos and keep on keeping on..
Granted, i dont have many miles under my belt (relatively speaking). But my experience, when i see bad driving, it usually has one of these four state license-plates; New York, Florida, Texas, & California.
I live in South Carolina. I was in Atlanta once about 28 years ago. I said if I ever got out I would never return. So far I haven't. Driving in atlanta is the experience that convenced me to NOT become a trucker.
I have a question - I keep seeing people overtaking on the right in these videos from the U.S. Is that legal/or just something that people do anyway, and is it not dangereous?
The trucking community could help itself by photographing loading docks where it is allowed and writing notes to other drivers on the right ways in and around places. Where you should do it I do not know, but as the people working the warehouses are not putting up explanatory notes, you durn gutta du it urselves.
dave another fun video you should be a comedian this one was very funny also me: remember last summer my GPS was like, left turn here I'm like no that's a giant wall 😂 I can't afford no ticket and me one more time yea I can't do coasters anymore either dave due to my seizure meds I'll watch family and friends but me nope I can't I miss it 😢 and yea stay away from yellow jackets I've never been stung by a bee but my sisters all have
Atlanta traffic sucks. The whole family yells through the windshield. I also yell through the windshield. Not as much as my twin sister who cusses them out. One thing for sure, I use the exit lane in traffic congested areas and haul ass.
21:51. Automatically wins a Grammy award for this. Congratulations Dave. Keep it going omg happy tears. What a incredible voice.
I love when you're amped up on Mt. Dew, Dave. Your commentary is always so entertaining. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Been a while since I watched you. This video just popped on my YT home screen, and I'm so happy I clicked on it!
i think my favorite part About living in atlanta is getting away with driving like a jackass cause everyone else does
i treat driving to work as a sport in the A lol
Atlanta is always the biggest pain
You drinking Mountain Dew and doin' the Dew is so relatable.
Used to be a driver myself out west, but now I work for the State of Georgia. Decided to watch your video for a truckers POV on ATL traffic, and you just happened to catch me in the act. 11:45 that's me helping out that heavy haul in the yellow truck😂
Who else loves Riding with Dave?
His videos are awesome!
I like potatoes
I love him alot
I’ve been watching since he was riding motorcycles.
The true goat
I moved to Houston recently, and i quickly realized speed limits, stop lights/signs are just suggestions. It's a free for all, i see people going 50 mph + in a neighborhood with kids often. 90 mph on the highway is normal apparently🤷🏾♂🤷🏾♂ Absolutely nuts.
welcome to Texass
@@dr7coo_ Much different from Orlando FL my hometown forsure...
Texas. The POLAR opposite of California. Gotta love it lmao
Dave you followed GPS to take that exit i-75 just to get back I-285 west which you were, you got keep left 3 lanes to stay on i-285

You sure know how to roll!!! ❤ It's exactly how I like to roll too.

That tow truck at 7:06 might have been using a Zacklift which is a towing attachment to a regular semi truck.
I'm not an trucker ,but I love your personality and love when you say " boys" lol
glad I moved out of the Atlanta area and moved to western North Carolina. My old area in Lawrenceville - the traffic was abysmal.
Gwinnett is a cluster fuck nightmare now.
Middle lanes help one merge right or left. Don't have to deal with any other vehicles merging left or right.

Don't know the Us license school, but in my country, you need a few hours of highway drive before you can take the test.
Good job bro
I’m Currently in the process of waiting for my CDL classes to start. March 9th.. going to stay on lively board but I can’t wait to be in a big truck.
Hi Dave 👋👋Happy New Year to you 😊
Love watching riding with Dave
Used to have a day route in “Allana” boy I could only do it for a year keeps you on your toes for sure makes you question humanity some days but worth the experience safe travels and hammer down driver
Lane departure happens quite easily.
Your on the Biggest Rollor coaster of all Dave .. Life 👊✌️ And I enjoy riding with Dave 🤟 Safe travels our Friend. Onward! 😉
Glad to see you back Brother.
Can we get an tour of you camper and a update on your jeep

I see you came back to Atlanta you are right we do have some crazy people out here that drives crazy
Bored Dave asking other drivers 'how do you like living in Atlanta" was one of the most comical things I saw recently.
16:47 off to the right is the burn marks from my car fire lol
As an Atlanta dweller and soon to be CDL holder, we collectively suck at driving. Also our roads are shit lol. Also you're pickup was like 5 mins from me, nice!

Next time your up here you should hike the Amicalola Falls State Park, I've done it before and it was very fun.
i hate it when i have a in lilburn and i gotta drive from 75 south to 285 greensville and once i hit285 the morning traffic in 8 in the morning is horrible
“NOT Riding With Dave” I guess when it comes to Roller Coasters 🎢 😂
When I hauled freight for 30 years I was always scared when it came to Atlanta, Memphis, AND ALWAYS hated New York good job hand
I’m glad me and Dave agree that driving through DFW is a nightmare.
Lol I used to ride one of those wooden rollercoasters at six flags back to back near closing. Thing was so janky my knees would be black and blue and my teeth damn near vibrated out of my head but I loved every second of it.
I’m from Houston. Our traffic is a mess, but Dallas is the worst.
you passed my work exits in the first 30 seconds!
Keep driving dave😅
Hood mirrors are a great mirror, saves many a heartache from 4 wheelers
I feel the same way about roller coasters
Also, I think city driving would be easiest for me, oddly enough. Highways intimidate me too much. Guess local'd be the life for me as much as I want to travel.
TRUCKING THROUGH ATLANTA TRAFFIC GOES LIKE THIS
😂 I live there for 36 years and drove trucks it used to be a time when you could leave without traffic but that’s was the late 80’s . I have since moved away and no traffic and less stress 😂.I appreciate your video stay safe and be blessed.

Typical Dave style leaving us on a cliffhanger
Brooo sameeee with the rollar coaster 😭i had the EXACT same experience there for i never got on one Ever
I drive through Dallas 5 days a week to get to my CDL school lol. If I can get used to apparently the worst city to drive through then I guess I'll be alright elsewhere
I haven’t seen one of your videos in a while.
Who you driving for now?
Last time I watched was CFI
So way back in 2010. I have been off the road for awhile! Got back into trucking I have a load of humvees going to Albany ! I forgot all trucks must take bypass I took75 right through town. Thank god for military loads!!
Dallas is really rough. But most of the time if I hit my blinker they'd back off. Louisiana You could hit someone and they still won't let you over they'll push you back.
daaaaaaaveeeeee
I myself don't like driving in the western states during the winter months
You’re like my brother who sees “I’m afraid of Roller Coasters because they’re too high” and I tell him “You get in a Plane ✈️ they’re maybe 20,000 feet in the Sky.. Roller Coaster maybe 200 or 400 feet at most”😂 then he sees “they’re too fast..”🤦🏻♂️ I tell him “Roller Coaster 200 miles maybe.. airplanes 600 MPH” 😂
Dave got vocals man🙂
i had a friend that lives in ATL i would only visit him at night because I cant stand driving through during the day.
Notification gang! 😎
I drive through Atlanta daily pulling for Walmart. And man it’s draining honestly it’s really not a good time to go through unless it’s 1am to 5am after that good luck. Especially on the city streets 🤦🏾♂️ 285 is horrible I be so happy to get on 85 headed back towards Montgomery AL 😂
my grandpa hauls freight from the Atlanta airport every day and is always going through there. i dont see how he does it

You just a couple hours from my place
My dad is a truck driver and has been for a long time and always lived and ran through and out of Dallas. He hates Chicago the most
But Dallas really sucks too
I've been from Maine-Tennessee and the worst drivers I have seen was in New York/New Jersey.
Granted, i dont have many miles under my belt (relatively speaking). But my experience, when i see bad driving, it usually has one of these four state license-plates; New York, Florida, Texas, & California.
more people, more everything!
Have you had a car cut you off or brake check you
As a Sheriff's Deputy in metro Atlanta, but also have family living in the Dallas area, I can confirm, we are worse than Dallas.
Ugh. Atlanta is 20% of the reason I stopped driving a truck. All those lanes and all you get is more dummies with no lane discipline
You are funny, i love watching you!
bro you passed my HighWay😂
I live an hour east from Atlanta and I avoid it like the plague lol
Dave is a cool cat
wow! the closest ill be to dave, six flags is about 20 minute from my house!!!
I live in South Carolina. I was in Atlanta once about 28 years ago. I said if I ever got out I would never return. So far I haven't. Driving in atlanta is the experience that convenced me to NOT become a trucker.
Everyone hates Dallas but I've had no issues. City I hat the most is Louisville Kentucky. People up there are ALWAYS in accidents. It's ridiculous.
🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
The gang has arrived 😂😂😂
I always liked driving through Atlanta, gives me an excuse to drive like the residents 😭😂
How are you doing Dave? Hopefully your time off is treating you well bro
Man I miss the motorcycle and grom vlogs lol
Try Austin Texas. It's way worse than Dallas or Houston. People in San Antonio just can't tell their north from south or east from west
If you would rather go sky diving I'll take you haha
What camera do you use?
Always hated driving through Houston, TX.
I do not like roller coasters either Dave - for the same reason.
Where will you be in Kentucky?
My favorite trucker
El Paso is the most challenging for me. 🤷🏼♂️
I would go skydiving, after all, I love heights
I have a question - I keep seeing people overtaking on the right in these videos from the U.S. Is that legal/or just something that people do anyway, and is it not dangereous?
It's legal to overtake here.
Dave is your truck automatic ?
Dave, I thought you parked it for awhile.
I'm in Utah salt lake city.atlanta got own way driving

Ever consider going local dave?
what happens when your late for a load? anything against you or money?
Atlanta traffic sucks. The whole family yells through the windshield. I also yell through the windshield. Not as much as my twin sister who cusses them out.
One thing for sure, I use the exit lane in traffic congested areas and haul ass.
Have toy ever gotten out of breth trying to say your intros? Also you should try to do the longest intro on your channel, go until you cant lol
