it was brought to me how the use of the japanese phrases in one of my carrd tutorial can be seen to be used as language aesthetic and it’s true. i didn't think of it at first because i've been studying japanese for a year now and i just saw it as words i knew. but i’ll ask that if you don’t know what does the japanese part means or how it’s read or it’s not a language you speak, refrain from using them. you can instead write them in english or in your first language, but solely putting them bc it looks pretty is wrong. i also want to apologize because even if my intentions weren’t bad, it’s still something i was somehow promoting. i’ll make sure to be more mindful about what i post because it can influence people. if you ever see i do something wrong pls let me know, that way i can be able to learn and avoid making the same mistake. once again i’m really sorry for the people that were offended with this, i’ll hold myself accountable and learn.

what's wrong with using words just because I don't speak the language
i can understand not knowing what the word(s) even mean, but it's. language, as long as someone isn't being dumb about it what's the issue lol
@@inactive_ina because language has culture, history and meaning. using it just because it looks good with something is insensitive and culturally ignorant. asian languages aren't just pretty to the eye, they hold a lot of meaning. many times asians get made fun of / shamed for speaking their language, yet us white folks (for example) get to use it cause we think it's pretty? yeah, no. not to mention, some asians even have been forbidden to speak their languages. imagine someone told you your mother language sounds like non-sense and forbids you to speak it, and then you see everyone else use that language for aesthetic purposes. it surely wouldn't make you feel good. most of the time, it also looks goofy because these people use incorrect terms and don't actually study the language like OP. i hope you, and whoever liked your comment, further educate yourself on this issue and no longer leave such ignorant comments.

@@inactive_ina i'm not japanese nor do i know japanese so i apologize if i'm wrong, but as a bilingual poc, i think using someone else's language as an aesthetic is simply ignorant. languages can hold a lot of meaning, so using it just because you think it's pretty is insensitive especially since people who are actually japanese can experience racism and prejudice for speaking japanese. and if you don't know the language at all it's just weird behavior.

Made a tiny mistake at 1:17. you put line spacing to 1.375 but text on the screen says 0.375 :D hope somebody finds this comment helpful. Great video btw currently in the process of making my first carrd work and this helps alot :D

i really appreciate the steps in the text off to the side all being said at once. i work in side by side windows and it can be kinda hard to read all the numbers when it's so small. this is such a pretty carrd!

hii, i've heard that if you add a control in the lowest part and add a lot of random elements as containers or text box until it says that you're out of element it won't show any of the elements you put after the container and it won't say made with carrd. but i've never tried it, you can give it a try

when I add a second container and edit it, it also edits the first container? for example when I select none for the background on the second container it gets rid of the color on top in the first container. did I do something wrong?
This tutorial was cute and amazing! But I have some questions lol 1. on 3:30 my text box wouldn't go to the middle of the box, instead it was going on top in the box (don't know if that makes since) 2. it wouldn't let me put two text boxes in the same box/beside each other. But overall this tutorial was pretty simple and cute!
i had this problem too!
to be honest i don't know how to fix that problem so instead i just made text boxes, colored them white, and set everything to 0 (except letter spacing bc it got in the way of my photo on the left). this acts as a "spacer"!
for the other thing, you have to put the text *right* under the other text (there will be a blue line indicating where the placement will be)

When I added the button, it wasn't the same size as in the video 9:52. It kind of doesn't lined/sized up with the gallery? (I'm bad with explaining 😭)

I’m using this format for mine so things may be different but it’s only when it comes to colour and images but I cant add another column which is really annoying at 2:56 and idk why it wont let me. I’m on iPad btw if that changes anything.

hi! i'm not sure if i did something wrong but whenever i check the carrd to see how it looks, all the sections are showing at once, not sure if you get what i mean.. (its like the profile, byf, and interests are all showing at once)
